Anna Todd- After

Anna Todd is a new-to-me author and I kept seeing things about her on Facebook, so I figured I'd take a gander at her book. I knew this book series was originally written on Wattpad as fan fiction, but I had never read that version.  I did enjoy this version though! 

After finishing this book, my first thought was: HOLY SHIT!!!! What. Just. Happened?!!? Ok, didn't see that one coming! This book was slightly frustrating but I still found myself pulled into Hardin and Tessa's drama-filled lives. What a freaking roller coaster. I feel like I've been through the wringer. Sheesh.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this book, but even though all the back and forth in this story made me feel a bit exhausted, it was really captivating. When it was sweet, it was really sweet and I wanted the sweet Hardin!

Tessa was good for him and helps him deal with his anger and calms him down-usually. She is young and naive and hasn't had loving relationships growing up and she was learning to find herself and figure out what it is Tessa wants and needs. Hardin quickly fills that need category.

I enjoyed watching her with Karen and Ken and being there for Hardin and guiding him when he obviously felt lost. And he was there for her at various points but he also pushed her buttons other times. Their little bubble was good, but when outside forces came into the picture, they floundered.

But Anna Todd did a great job of keeping the reader engaged and anxiously wanting more. It wasn't clear which you were going to get from the couple- hatred or love- and you had to keep reading and live in their moments. And this ending! Oh. My. I will definitely be reading After We Collided!! 

Tessa is a good girl with a sweet, reliable boyfriend back home. She's got direction, ambition, and a mother who's intent on keeping her that way.

Tessa already has the perfect boyfriend. So why is she trying so hard to overcome her own hurt pride and Hardin's prejudice about nice girls like her?
