Tin Queen by Devney Perry is now live!

Except she's Nova Talbot, the daughter of his archenemy--the man who murdered his

father.

Terri Osburn - Not Playing Fair review

The universe is not playing fair.

First, my new boss says changes are coming to our library that threaten the programs I run. Then a letter arrives from my mother—whom I haven’t seen in more than twenty years—saying who knows what because I’m refusing to open it. Last but not least, the man who dumped me eight months ago is telling people that I’m trying to get him back.

Universe, I assure you I am not.

The one bright spot in all of this is the new guy in my life. He’s sweet, adorable, and seems totally interested. There’s just one problem. I might have bent the truth a little when we first met, and now I need to confess before he finds out from someone else.

Maybe I can’t blame the universe for everything.

Not Playing Fair is about family, forgiveness, and the friends who stand by us through it all. Come along as librarian Megan Knox becomes the heroine of her own story, and finds love along the way.

My Review

I thought this book was sweet and fun to read! Megan is mostly happy with her life but lately she's been getting hit by some serious curveballs. I enjoyed how Megan and Ryan meet, but soon some things come to light and Megan has to stand up for herself. She has a great support system behind her and her friends are fun! They are there for her when she needs them the most, but she also isn't a weakling. I liked her strength and her ability to work through her problems. Ryan is a bonus she never expected. I enjoyed the flow of this story, the budding romance and the power of friends and family. I didn't want to put this book down!

Meghan Quinn - The Highland Fling review

I loved this book! I went through ALL.THE.FEELS. throughout this read. It even brought a tear or two to my eye. (Not to worry, it's not a bawling kind of book) This was such a fantastic story. I was here for Bonnie's journey with her bestie, Dakota. These two have nothing holding them back, so a jaunt to Scotland doesn't interrupt much in their lives. It was fun living vicariously through them. Meghan had me cracking up at their reactions to the Scottish slang and driving on the other side of the road. But one of my favorite things was the hairy coo! (Google it, totally worth it!) I felt like I was in Scotland with them, seeing the sights and the people. Plus, I enjoyed the immediate hate of one another between Bonnie and Rowan. Rowan is a bit of a loner and to say he's grumpy is an understatement. But I liked how Bonnie burrowed under his skin and they soon become friends. I was here for all the ups and downs this trip brought the girls and I ADORED the relationship between Rowan and Bonnie. I couldn't read this book fast enough and I can't recommend it enough!

In this steamy tale by USA Today bestselling author Meghan Quinn, an American searching for her purpose escapes to a Scottish town but finds more questions than answers when she meets a brooding yet handsome handyman.

Freshly fired from her third job in a row, Bonnie St. James has lost her way. So when she and her best friend stumble upon a “help wanted” post to run a coffee shop in the Scottish Highlands, they apply on a whim. Who knows? Maybe traveling to a new place is just what she needs to figure out her next move.

When the friends arrive in the tiny idyllic town of Corsekelly, they instantly fall for the gorgeous Highland landscape and friendly townspeople. But Bonnie finds a less-than-warm welcome in Rowan MacGregor, the rugged local handyman. Busy wrestling his own demons, Rowan’s in no mood to deal with the quirky American—even if she is a bonny lass.

As Bonnie and Rowan’s paths inevitably cross, insults—and sparks—fly. Can the pair build on their similarities to help each other find purpose and direction…and maybe romance too? Or will their passionate tempers fling them apart?

Stoni Alexander - Damaged review

I was excited to start this new series from Stoni! And Stryker is quite the man :) He's dark and has many secrets. He has had an interesting life to say the least and he gets done what is necessary.  He will also protect those around him. While he and Emerson have had a contentious past, they are forced to work together for a common purpose. I enjoyed the dynamics between Stryker and Emerson, their working relationship and their budding relationship. The tension and the heat between these two is HOT! I liked the danger and the not knowing who was behind things. It was a fun book to get lost in and I didn't want to put it down! Great start to the series and I can't wait for more!

I’m
not one of the good guys…not even close. I’m a heartless savage hunting down the thug who murdered my mother. Watching her die in my arms has turned me into a killing machine. Revenge runs bone-deep for me. It’s burned into my soul, baby.

When I become the one with a damn target on my back, my life turns into a raging dumpster fire. But not because my company gets breached or because some SOBs are trying to off me.

There’s this woman…the one woman I can’t freakin’ stand. An impulsive cop who arrested me for a crime I didn’t commit. She gets too close to me, she’s gonna learn about all the ones I did pull off.

The problem is, I’m crazy attracted to her. Insane, over the top, can’t-get-her-outta-my-head kind of attraction. She pushes all my buttons and makes me madder than hell. If anyone can bring me to my knees, it’s her.

Turns out, I took a vow of celibacy. And I don’t break so easily.

Except the hot cop is now a detective…and I gotta help her with a serial-killer case ‘cause I got wicked-good hacking skills. But that’s all I’m gonna help her with…

__________

DAMAGED is a steamy, enemies-to-lovers, romantic suspense with a vigilante anti-hero and a by-the-book detective heroine. Fans of The Touch Series will love seeing Sin & Dakota in this full-length novel. Stoni hates cheating, and she loves her HEAs!

Marriage has always meant violence. I don’t trust it, but it’s the only thing keeping me afloat in these dark undercurrents. I married for safety but I got the most dangerous thing in the world—Ronan Byrne for a husband.

Now we’re returning to Bishop’s Landing to face our demons. Mine. His. We have real enemies to conquer, but it’s the fear in my heart that beats the loudest. I can’t stop being in love with him. Except the killer with the heart of stone doesn’t love me.

I don’t know whose family I belong in anymore. Or whether I should stay with Ronan when this is over. But I may not live long enough to make the choice.

Laurelin Paige and Kayti McGee - Spring Fever review

We’re back to Chloe’s world in this installment. She’s no longer searching for a new guy but getting settled into the relationship she’s in. But she’s not exclusive. So when a new opportunity arises, she considers it. Life is changing for Chloe and her friends and I’m sad there’s only 1 installment left but I can’t wait to see how things turn out for Chloe! I enjoyed the ups and the downs in this book and THE FEELS! Chloe is growing up and we're (the readers) along for the ride with her.

It’s time for spring cleaning, but I’m not ready to toss Logan yet…

Out with the old, in with the new… a new me, that is. Now that Charlotte’s married, I, too, have decided to be mature. So Logan isn’t Austin--that’s okay. Better than okay. That’s what I’d wanted all along, someone just as kind and loving and--okay, smoking hot--as my roommate. But a kind, loving, smoking hot someone who likes me back.

Logan has basically been all my dreams come true.

If I could stop stressing about work for five whole minutes to appreciate it, I’m sure I would be really happy. Thank God I have Austin to keep me grounded. Literally, because he makes me garden with him now. And maybe it’s just the stress talking, but it kind of seems like he wants to put down roots too. How come no one told me maturity would be this complicated?

Excerpt

“Am I a prisoner again? Do I need to remind you how that didn’t work out for you last time?”

By accident, in the doorway between the kitchen and living room, his eyes met mine and I caught my breath. Everything that happened in that cottage was there between us. The chair and the dark bedroom, the secrets up on the hill in the church. The cats. The bath and the whiskey. Then he blinked and just like that the memories were gone.

“We go to Caroline’s together,” he said. “You’re not to leave here alone.”

“Ronan. I won’t be a prisoner.”

“I’m trying to keep you safe.”

“You married me. Remember? We already made this terrible sacrifice. The least we can do is take advantage of the protection it provides us.”

“Our marriage isn’t going to keep you safe. Don’t you get it?” he asked. “Eden was right, we’re leaving leverage every place we go. You are now a tool someone can use to get to me. There are people out there who, when finding out I’m married, will delight in the idea that they can hurt you so they can hurt me.”

I opened my mouth to argue but then closed it again. His words rang of truth. The silence around us breathed and there were a thousand questions I could ask, but there was only one that mattered.

“Would it hurt you if I was hurt?”

“You daft fucking girl, don’t you hear what I’m saying?”

“Well, you’re yelling, so it—”

“You don’t know my life, Poppy. You think you do and that’s my fault. I never should have taken you to that cottage. I never should have…” He stopped. The words he didn’t say were ringing in the silence.

Touched you.

Kissed you.

Let you close. Well, you did, I thought. And now we’re here. “You’re an innocent.”

“Not so much anymore.”

“Poppy, I’m not joking about this.”

“I’m not joking either,” I cried. We were both standing, exhaustion and terror making me yell. “It only hurts you, Ronan, if you care about me and you’ve made it—”

He grabbed me. “If you were hurt, it wouldn’t hurt me.” He leaned forward, his face in mine like he could say these words right into my mouth if he could. Into my brain. “It would kill me.”

Chevy Stevens - Dark Roads review

OOOH! This book was dark and so intriguing! It was twisty and held me captivated. I was invested in Hailey's journey. I felt bad for her when she lost her dad and things quickly started spiraling downhill after that. She was just trying to make it through each day. But that darn Cold Creek Highway held its own secrets. I liked Hailey's friendship with her best friend, Jonny, and how he was there for her when she needed him. And poor Beth. She had been through a lot and was trying her best to cope. There was something sinister about the area and I was critical of everyone in this book. I didn't want to put it down! Can't recommend this book enough!

“Chevy Stevens is a brilliant and unique talent and Dark Roads is an instant classic. My hat’s off to her.” — C. J. Box, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Long Range

"My favorite Chevy Stevens book since Still Missing...The suspense builds with every page, and the ending is a complete shocker."—Sarah Pekkanen, #1 New York Times Bestselling Author of The Wife Between Us

"Aptly named, Dark Roads is deep, dark, and unsettling. From the opening page, it’s clear you’re in the hands of a master storyteller...With brilliant characterizations, tight plotting, and a setting bound to give you chills, this is Stevens's finest book to date. A tour de force mystery you do not want to miss."—J.T. Ellison, New York Times bestselling author of Her Dark Lies

"Chevy Stevens is back and better than ever...Dark Roads is a chilling, pulse-pounding thriller that also tugs at the heartstrings. It's everything you've come to love from a master of the psych thriller genre!"— Mary Kubica, New York Times bestselling author of The Other Mrs.

The Cold Creek Highway stretches close to five hundred miles through British Columbia’s rugged wilderness to the west coast. Isolated and vast, it has become a prime hunting ground for predators. For decades, young women traveling the road have gone missing. Motorists and hitchhikers, those passing through or living in one of the small towns scattered along the region, have fallen prey time and again. And no killer or abductor who has stalked the highway has ever been brought to justice.

Hailey McBride calls Cold Creek home. Her father taught her to respect nature, how to live and survive off the land, and to never travel the highway alone. Now he’s gone, leaving her a teenage orphan in the care of her aunt whose police officer husband uses his badge as a means to bully and control Hailey. Overwhelmed by grief and forbidden to work, socialize, or date, Hailey vanishes into the mountainous terrain, hoping everyone will believe she’s left town. Rumors spread that she was taken by the highway killer—who’s claimed another victim over the summer.

One year later, Beth Chevalier arrives in Cold Creek, where her sister Amber lived—and where she was murdered. Estranged from her parents and seeking closure, Beth takes a waitressing job at the local diner, just as Amber did, desperate to understand what happened to her and why. But Beth’s search for answers puts a target on her back—and threatens to reveal the truth behind Hailey’s disappearance…
