My Review:
This is the 2nd book in the series, but you could read this one without having read the first book. However, things would make more since with reading Wrath of Cain first. Anyway, I enjoyed this book even more than Cain's story and I definitely liked him! There was more action in this book and we, the reader, had a history with Roan.
The way this book started, immediately drew me in. There's just something about an insanely hot guy and getting a mafia story as well! Alina has a good head on her shoulders and is strong and independent. She tells it like it is and confronts Roan but she doesn't expect him to affect her like he does.
Roan is an alpha male who goes after what he wants. His life hasn't been unicorns and rainbows as he works for the family business but his intentions with Alina change after he starts following her. He's drawn to her and wants to claim her as his.
Neither one of them expect the other person and their pull toward one another is strong. Neither can deny it and watching their journey is delicious. But we're talking mafia here, so it's not easy. Oh, and his crazy brother, Royal.
I didn't want to put this book down! The romance, the fear of the unknown and the twists and turns of this story had me not wanting any interruptions while I read. Very well written and entertaining read! I highly recommend this book/series.
