Adriana Locke - The Exception

I enjoyed getting to meet Cane and Jada. Their story was easy to get lost in.

Jada has had some bad things happen to her (loss of her mom, nasty ex-husband) and she's trying to rebuild her life. Without men. She's back home and staying with her sister while she gets back on her feet. And Cane Alexander comes barreling through her life like a wrecking ball. He's definitely not someone she should get involved with and she wants to stay away. But Cane won't allow it.

Cane has had enough loss in his life, but he has prevailed and goes through life getting things accomplished, expanding the family business and not taking no as an answer. He's always had it easy when it comes to to women and has had his fair share of lovers. In his words, "You shouldn't try to play games with me because I'm not a player. I'm the coach."

That statement was exactly how the cocky, self assured Cane came across. But hearing "no" from Jada spurred him on. Soon, he couldn't quit thinking about her. She was unlike anyone else and had completely captured his attention whether or not she meant to.

Be sure not to miss Cane and Jada's story! Add this one to your TBR list for sure or heck, just go ahead and read it! And while you do that, I'm moving on to part 2 of their story: The Connection

There are exceptions to every rule ...

Jada Stanley is starting over, freeing herself from her past. Following the rules she’s given herself is easy enough, until she meets HIM. He’s gorgeous, cocky, and everything she needs to avoid, but that’s easier said than done.

Cane Alexander has his own set of rules, a plan to keep his life simple and free of complications. But when he sets his sights on Jada, she proves to be a temptation he just can’t resist.

Walls crumble, resolve fades, and precious rules are bent.

They can’t help but take a chance on each other, but chances come with risk. As the past rears its ugly head in ways they never see coming, will they revert back to protecting themselves? Or will they realize that the other is the exception to every rule they’ve ever made?
