Karina Halle- Racing the Sun

I love this author. No really.... I love how her books pull you in and how she writes so vividly that it feels like you're standing wherever the characters are. I've gotten the travel bug bad after reading her books! And I follow her on IG too.... She's cool.

So this book made me feel like I was in Positano, then Capri (anyone up for a trip?!). The scenery sounded spectacular. And when we met the children, I wasn't sure what to think about them. And big brother, Signor Larosa... Who doesn't love a brooding man?

"Oh my God, am I Belle? Is he an Italian Beast?  Did I just stumble into the best situation ever? My inner nerd is having heart palpitations." <--- I love everything about this!

I was completely captivated by this book. I DEVOURED it and couldn't read Amber and Derio's story fast enough. I had to find out what happened to them. This book is fun, sweet, sad and delicious. Karina's stories take you places you didn't realize you needed to visit and the characters are awesome. Amber is trying to find out who she is and Derio has had tragedy in his life and he has built walls up over the years. Alfonso and Annabella are precious and they too have had a difficult life. Their story was beautiful and I didn't want it to end.

And merda!! Karina, woman! You about damn near killed me! Oh my heavens! My heart stopped when Amber was in Naples. Wowwwwwww. My heart broke into a million pieces, but not to worry. I'm okay now. But this book is freaking fantastic. Another great book from the lovely Karina Halle! Don't miss this read.

From the USA Today bestselling author of Where Sea Meets Sky comes a new adult novel about a young woman who becomes a nanny in Capri and falls for her charges' bad-boy brother.

It's time for twenty-four-year-old Amber MacLean to face the music.  After a frivolous six months of backpacking through New Zealand, Australia, and Southeast Asia, she finds herself broke on the Mediterranean without enough money for a plane ticket home to California.  There are worse places to be stuck than the gorgeous coastline of southern Italy, but the only job she manages to secure involves teaching English to two of the brattiest children she's ever met.

It doesn't help that the children are under the care of their brooding older brother, Italian ex-motorcycle racer Desiderio Larosa.  Darkly handsome and oh-so-mysterious, Derio tests Amber's patience and will at every turn- not to mention her hormones.

But when her position as teacher turns into one as full-time nanny at the crumbling old villa, Amber finds herself growing closer to the enigmatic recluse and soon as to choose between the safety of her life back in the States and the uncertainty of Derio's closely guarded heart.
