C.L. Parker - Coming Clean review

WOW! Just WOW!  This book was phenomenal!  I was totally sucked into Shaw and Cassidy's world and this book didn't let me go until the very end.  It was very realistic and with some un-realistic but easy-to-go-with qualities.  I loved both Playing Dirty and  Getting Rough and had been waiting anxiously for the arrival of this final book in the series.  Despite the number of books read between the time I finished Getting Rough and now, I was still able to remember what had transpired between these two.  Shaw and Cassidy have a love like none other and their chemistry is off the charts hot! But I also like how they push each other and make each other better.

If you haven't read the first two books, stop reading now and go start them!  Some spoilers ahead.

This book focuses on life after baby for this couple.  Life isn't rainbows and unicorns but real life.  Work gets the best out of Shaw and suddenly they aren't spending time together as a couple or as a family.  They are just getting through each day but Cassidy can't live like that. She needs her man back and her baby daddy involved in Abe's life.  The fights they have are real and you can feel their pain and their situation through C.L. Parker's words.  She throws the reader into the middle of the angst, despair, lack of passion and you just GET IT.  She makes the reader feel for them and want them to fight through it and succeed. And it's quite a journey she takes them through!

In typical Shaw and Cassidy fashion, the two can go toe-to-toe with the best of them and tempers flare quickly as they try to work on the relationship.  And when the tempers flare, so does their attraction to each other as well!   They work on their missing passion and things get HOT! HOT HOT!  Katya's presence in their lives is for the better and keeps things definitely interesting.  This entire book is focusing on their relationship and the things they need to work through to get in a better spot but it's very well written and I was completely captivated throughout the entire book. This book has all the emotions and I applaud C.L. Parker on a book well written! Great end to a great series!  I HIGHLY recommend these books!

Praise for C. L. Parker’s Playing Dirty

“Fun, action-packed . . . Readers will be eager to read the sequel, hoping for more rough and dirty sexual acrobatics, friendship, backstabbing, and empathy.”—Publishers Weekly

“This snappy, sexy novel moves at breakneck speed, with abundant snark and sports euphemisms. . . . Parker’s penchant for dry humor and vivid, voracious sex scenes breathes life into a well-trodden premise.”—Library Journal

“Parker writes intense storylines that anyone can relate to. Her characters are complex, with long and sometimes turbulent pasts that they have overcome, that still continues to affect their present. . . . I cannot wait to see where she takes this new series.”—Fresh Fiction

Praise for Getting Rough

“The second Monkey Business contemporary (after Playing Dirty) plunges right into the multifaceted liaison between Shaw Matthews and Cassidy Whalen, secret lovers and openly competitive business associates, as heartfelt emotions, misconceived assumptions, and natural disasters make for rough adventures. . . . Parker’s fast pace, rapier wit, and sharp dialogue perfectly merge with the simmering sexual tension in this lust-to-love tale that fans will devour.”—Publishers Weekly

“Forces of nature conspire to represent the deep emotional involvement between the main characters in this hot-blooded novel by Parker. Mother Nature is also the perfect foil to the lives of the varied inhabitants of this sexy tale. The title is apt as the lovemaking grows from sweet to wild for each willing participant.”—RT Book Reviews
