My Review:
First off, I'll admit what a HUGE J. Kenner fan I am! I LOVE getting more Damien and Nikki. It's nice to see what's continuing to happen in their lives. And this novella was no exception! Their love is stronger than ever and palpable through the pages. They are so sweet, a little dirty and HOT HOT HOT! (We also see Dallas a little in this story, as his book is getting ready to come out! WOOT WOOT!)
There is a big revelation that happens in this story, which, was pretty much what I thought it would be, but at the same time there was more to that story that I wouldn't have figured out without reading. It was an interesting twist to read. I wanted to know more! Nikki proved to herself in this story that she was strong, and even though Damien's love was what she needed, "Because Damien will always be there, when I'm broken, and when I'm not. He will always be there to hold me close. To give me what I need. And he will always help me heal." However, she also needed to let herself know that she was strong because of Damien and without Damien. She wanted to rely on her own two feet than always leaning on her husband.
Also happening in this book is Jackson and Sylvia's baby's arrival. We, the reader, know Sylvia is about to pop and she and Jackson are getting ready for their bundle of joy. We see things that are happening to them through Damien and Nikki's eyes. There may or may not be a surprise for you at the end of this book, dear reader :)
If you've enjoyed other Stark novellas, this is no exception. I do recommend reading this one and even though it's short (Duh, Abby, it's a novella) it's a goody!! I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to Julie's next series featuring Dallas!

“You wouldn’t,” I say, though I can’t keep the genuine worry out of my voice.
“Wouldn’t I?”
I shake my head, trying to appear more certain than I feel.
“Why not?”
“Because that wouldn’t just punish me. It would torture you, too.”
“It would,” he agrees. “And while I’m not usually averse to self-sacrifice for a good cause--and,” he adds as his eyes skim over my body, “you are a very good cause--tonight I have something else in mind. Take off your jeans, baby. Take off everything and get on the floor. I want you at my mercy.”
“I’m always at your mercy,” I say as I begin to comply, and from the gleam in his eyes, it’s clear that he knows it.
“You are,” he says, a softness sneaking in to dull the sharp edge of his voice. “As much as I’m at yours. But I’ve been thinking about you all day, hot and naked and wet for me. And tonight I’m taking what I want. And baby? I promise you’re going to enjoy it.”
