J. Kenner - Get It On review

Ah, I LOVED getting Tyree's story! It is HIS bar, after all :) I was looking forward to Mr. May! Tyree hasn't had an easy life, and he has friends and family rallying around him.  But he lost his wife and hasn't been able to move on from that. He works hard to raise his son and work on his bar. He's proud of what he's done but his wife was the love of his life. We see what happens when he's not working.  One day he's in his bar and he thinks he's seeing a ghost.  But he shakes things off and continues about his day.  Later, fate shakes him up and he learns he has a daughter. It's a lot for him to comprehend. Then he's confronted with the first woman he ever loved.  He has to learn to let go and be happy.
Eva is a strong, independent woman who has had to learn to be that way. She's raised her daughter but has never forgotten about Tyree. Her daughter's scheming puts them in each other's paths and they learn things weren't as they seemed.  They have to get to know each other again and decisions have to be made.
I enjoyed getting lost in this second chance love story.  I felt for both Tyree and Eva and wanted things to work out for them. I was hooked and didn't want to put this book down. Make sure you grab this sweet read today!

Skillful hands. A talented tongue.
Meet Mr. May.

Fate’s been messing with veteran Tyree Johnson. It took his buddies in combat and his wife in a fatal car accident. But he’ll be damned if he’ll let Fate take his beloved bar, The Fix on Sixth.

For years, he’s avoided being Fate’s whipping boy through sheer force of will, and now every bit of his focus is centered on saving his business. Until, that is, the first woman who ever touched his heart walks back into his life—along with a daughter he never knew.

After years of loneliness, Tyree’s not prepared for the way Eva’s sensual curves and sharp wit still capture his heart and rekindle his senses. All he knows is that for the first time in forever, he’s found a passion other than his bar. But one final twist arrives when Fate pits the bar he can’t bear to lose against the woman who’s stolen his heart.

He’s a master at red-hot ecstasy.
