Sometimes the hardest lesson you have to learn is that you can’t control everything. Sometimes you have to take a leap of faith and trust that it will all be okay in the end.

Camilla Valentini is a planner. Ever since she could write, she would sit down and compose lists of her daily to do’s, her goals, and her dreams. These lists have taken her through most of her life and served her well. She is living in the city that she loves, has a job that pays the bills or at least most of them, and has the best group of friends a girl can ask for.

However when her life gets turned upside down by a fire in her apartment building, she is left with no place to live, piles of burnt manuscripts, and more importantly only one pair of shoes! As far as she is concerned, things couldn’t get worse. Until she gets fired from her job as a copy editor. Apparently, it was a big mistake to not go on that date with the boss’s son.

Faced with some difficult decisions to make, Cami will have to take a close look at who she is and if she even likes that person. Because when it hits the fan, that is when things really start to get interesting and you can become who you were always meant to be.

My Review

This book was freaking phenomenal! And you know it's going to be a good book when the beginning starts off looking back in the character's life. I was completely absorbed in Cami's life and couldn't put this book down.  It sorta reminded me of the friendships from Sex and the City.  Cami has her core group of friends who have been through the ups and downs of life together.  It's realistic, raw, sweet and sometimes sad.  Victoria writes in such a way that the reader can see the scenes clearly, feels like a part of the group of friends and HAAAAAAAAAAAAATES when the book is over! (What do I do now?!?!) I loved being that absorbed in a book that I felt bereft when I read the last word.

This book took many twists and turns that I didn't necessarily see coming.  I was hoping for certain outcomes but they didn't always come to fruition.  However, I wasn't disappointed with the way anything in this book went. This book grabbed me and held on until the very last word.  This book had it all and I loved that it's not like any other book I've read lately. It's a very well written story, that's easy to follow, love and be a part of.  I HIGHLY recommend grabbing this book RIGHT NOW! This is a debut author to keep your eyes on! I am looking forward to seeing more from her in the future.
