Katana Collins - Wingwoman review

Every hit song starts with one thing... heartbreak.

Wingwoman, an all-new steamy, country rockstar romantic comedy from USA Today bestselling author Katana Collins is available now!

As a country rockstar, I know one thing for sure: Every hit song starts with one thing... heartbreak.

She had two weeks to find my next muse...

...or she, herself, had to become it.

As a country rockstar, I know one thing for sure: Every hit song starts with one thing: heartbreak.

I've got six weeks to write my next hit album or else I'll lose everything: My label. My ranch. My horse rescue.

In order to save everything else, I have to lose the most important thing of all: My heart.

Which means that to write this album, I need a muse.

This is where hiring Hope Evans comes in. Professional Wingwoman and matchmaker extraordinaire.

There’s one problem – my muse has decided it wants Hope.

Another problem? Hope refuses to be The One.

So I made her a bet. She has two weeks to find me a muse... or she herself has to become it.

If she loses our bet, she’ll be losing her heart.

Because hearts like mine don't love...

They shatter.

In fact, I'm counting on it.

My Review
OH MY GOODNESS!!! I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED this book! I couldn't read it fast enough! Hope and Josh were an unlikely couple. But there was something about her that drew him to her. Josh needs to be inspired and Hope brings out his creativity. While they have an agreement, real feelings get involved. Hope is at a crossroads in life and the timing for this work couldn't have been better. I thought this book felt realistic and I couldn't keep a smile off my face. I was involved in their relationship and wanted Josh to work his way into Hope's life for real. If you're looking for a feel good, fun read then please don't let this book pass you by! You won't be disappointed!

Katana Collins - Famously Flawed

I love Katana Collins's books and while this one was short, it was fun and fast to get lost in! Emma and Pierce have put the real world aside and are tied up in their bubble, enjoying each other in Croatia. Things aren’t supposed to get serious, but feelings are hard to put aside. And some friendships aren’t meant to be. I enjoyed the chemistry between Emma and Pierce and the way they care for each other. This story ends on a slight cliffy, and I can’t wait to read more in Famously Mine!

A swoon-worthy sequel to Famously Bad from USA Today Bestselling Author Katana Collins! If you like smoking hot romance with billionaire alpha heroes, you’ll love this steamy, short read!

One week ago, I never would have dreamed that I’d be on a Mediterranean vacation with massive movie star, Pierce Whitley. Me. The second grade teacher who was left at the altar just over a week ago was now traipsing around Croatia with a yacht under foot and a movie star on my arm.

But vacations are temporary—and so are whirlwind romances.

There's no future for us.

A love like ours was never supposed to be.

So when our very private moment on a beach becomes public and plastered all over the tabloids, it unleashes Pierce's demons and a closet so full of skeletons, it might as well be a graveyard.

Pierce Whitley isn't just flawed...

He's famously flawed.

Katana Collins - Shortcake review

Ohhhh man!!!! I finished this book and my heart is bursting! I loved this book so, so much! Conrad is very much a cinnamon roll. He doesn't let many people in, but when he does, he takes care of them. He's the protector of Harper and had been taking care of his mother until her passing. Life unexpectedly threw Addy into his world and she made an impact. And when Addy and Conrad have a true chance at love, there is an ease to them. They understand one another and Addy is the type of person who looks out for others. So Harper is swept into Addy's world too and she genuinely cared for her. I couldn't read this book fast enough. I was left with a book hangover of epic proportions and cannot recommend this book enough! Please don't let this book pass you by!

That awkward moment when your one-night stand is the new sheriff in town...

And he's here to arrest you.

Yep. A reformed bad girl should never fall into bed with a cop.

Conrad Meyer is everything I’ve always tried to avoid. A know-it-all, grumpy, goody-two-shoes with piercing eyes and a distractingly sexy body.

And to top it all off? He's a
cop.

As the resident ‘party girl,’ I gravitate more to tattooed bad boys on motorcycles than clean cut, single-dads in squad cars.

Unfortunately, Conrad isn’t
only the new sheriff… he’s also my new landlord.

Despite this, I have every intention to keep my distance.

However, fate has other ideas when faulty wiring causes an electrical fire and I have no choice but to move in with him for a few weeks while my apartment is being repaired.

But when the town stick-in-the-mud kisses me, all I can think about is what’s
beneath those grumpy pants of his…

Katana Collins - Hound Dog review

Haylee and Finn had an interesting meet cute. They were not expecting each other and they met at a time when Haylee was vulnerable. And things didn't go as planned for Haylee. Fast forward six years and  Haylee is back in Maple Grove. They had to figure out how to be in the same town with each other. I enjoyed their banter. I loved seeing their relationship develop and I was lost in the story!

I live a double life… and no one in my family knows it.

No, I’m not a spy or CIA or special forces or anything… but sometimes it seems like being a matchmaker is nearly as dangerous.

Men and women come from all over for my business, Hound Dog, where I utilize rescue dogs as a way to help people attract and find their perfect match.

Over eighty percent of my clients end up adopting the dogs I pair them with. And ninety percent of them find their “soulmate" after using my services.

Too bad I don’t believe in soulmates. But fact is, that sort of cynicism won’t pay the bills.

Or at least, it didn’t…until Haylee Rogers came back to town.

The only girl I've ever loved. The girl I made a promise to six years ago.

And the girl I ghosted.

Turns out, she's the only living relative of Ol’ Lady Meryl—the delightfully crazy dog hoarder who lives in town.

So when Haylee asks me to help find homes for her aunt’s dogs, I’m powerless to say no.

The problem is, I’ve never wanted anyone as much as I want her.

And a good girl like her would never... and should never... fall for a hound dog like me.

Fans of Christina Lauren, Meghan Quinn, and Lucy Score will love this steamy and hilarious romantic comedy!

Katana Collins - Sugarlips review

This book runs along the same time as Beefcakes, which was an interesting take. While you don't need to read it first, I do recommend it. That being said, I loved this book! It gave me ALL.THE.FEELS. I found myself laughing out loud and totally swooning while reading this book. Liam had a plan for his life but life got in his way. Chloe was known for being a Tasmanian devil and well, she did her thing to his life. While that might sound like a bad thing to most, it was good for Liam... it also threw them together in the best of ways. I enjoyed the way their relationship progressed and I loved how supportive they were of one another. This was a book I couldn't read fast enough, yet didn't want it to end. Be sure to not miss this fantastic read!

I learned a lot the night my cheating fiancé called off our wedding:

1. A cheater’s gonna cheat no matter how smart you are, how charming you act, or how hot your bod is.

2. Nothing eases the pain of a broken heart like a late-night donut delivery from a hot guy like Liam Evans

3. Said donuts and a pitcher of margaritas do not mix well.

4. Drunkenly declaring that a hot guy is your best friend will not make your tingly bits chill out.

Somehow, my drunken decree making Liam Evans my best friend works and we decide to open a food truck together—The Dump Truck… a late-night junk food truck servicing the broken-hearted.

With our new business venture and the rocky relationship between his brother and my sister, a friendship between us is as far as it can go… until a national broadcast claims that we’re a couple.

Now the whole world thinks we’re madly in love, and The Dump Truck business is booming as a result.

And as our make-believe relationship gets all too real, I’m finding that breaking up has never been so sweet...

Katana Collins - Sleighing You review

I so enjoyed going back to Maple Grove and meeting Chris and Avery! I loved everything about this story! Chris and Avery have a unique meeting; one that is quite unexpected! This sweet story gave me ALL THE FEELS! Of course, what's a Katana book without an animal?! Kringle was such a sweet pup! I loved the setting of this book and the time frame. Katana writes in such a way the reader feels like they're there with the characters. I enjoyed the banter between Chris and Avery. There was a nice, competition between them. But soon they found they had a lot in common and they worked well together. The Christmas theme was fun and added to this lighthearted read. I couldn't put this book down and I highly recommend!

My name is Chris Pohle... and I hate Christmas.

Which to my father, owner of the StoryBook Christmas Store franchise, is blasphemy. I should have known he was up to something when he claimed he needed me to fill in as Santa Claus at our flagship store this year. As soon as I arrived in the tiny town of Maple Grove, I wanted to pack up my Santa costume and catch the first sleigh out of there.
Then I met Avery, the manager of our flagship store. My very own Christmas elf. And it was love at first fight...

My name is Avery Pinkerton... and I love Christmas.
Love is an understatement. I eat, breathe, and live Christmas. At my Christmas shop, the hot chocolate flows like water, fresh baked cookies are always within arms reach, carols sing through the speakers, and Christmas is anything but a one-month affair.

So I shouldn't be too thrown off my game when my boss's son arrives to take over the role of Santa Claus. But Chris Pohle is nothing like Santa. To start with, he's decades too young. His beard isn't white as snow. His nose isn't red as a cherry. And his belly... well, what belly?

I need to get my act together before I make the biggest, most unprofessional mistake ever--fall in love with my Grinch of a boss. Because when that Santa suit starts to come off and he's standing beneath the mistletoe... well, stick a candy cane in me. I'm done.

Katana Collins - His Summer Kitten review

This was a fast, sweet read! Cal and Laurel have known each other for years because of her sister. However, they hadn't seen each other in quite some time. And while who she was related to threw him off a little, Laurel was determined. These two clicked and this was a sweet story to get lost in! If you're looking for an easy to read, sexy book then be sure to grab this one!

Laurel Peters is smart, beautiful, kind… and only 21 years old. Did I mention that she’s also my best friend’s little sister and my new part-time assistant?

In other words: Hands, off Cal.

Which absolutely, without a doubt would not have been a problem… until she kissed me.
An all-encompassing, time-stopping, spin the world on its axis kind of kiss.

And now I can’t stay away.

We just need to get through this summer with our feelings in check… and our pants zipped up. No problem. It’s not like we’re in love...
Right?

Katana Collins - Her Alpha Dog review

Chelsea and Josh were a fun pair! They were from completely different worlds and her job brought them together. She wasn't Josh's usual but the draw toward Chelsea and the chemistry between them was intense! This novella may have been a quick read, but the emotions felt sincere and believable! I was sucked into this story and I hated for it to be over. And I adored Cola! Who doesn't love a pupper in a book?! If you're looking for a sweet and sexy read, then be sure to grab this book!

Being a dog walker to famous movie star, Josh Murphy was supposed to be an easy gig—a few hours a day and a quick paycheck.

I had no idea what I was in for. Josh is demanding, intense, grumpy… and also the sexiest man I’ve ever seen.

And once that sexy scowl of his is directed at me, I see so much more to it simmering below the surface. I see the intense heat, desire, and even… tenderness.

Tenderness? That can’t be right. Alpha-holes aren’t tender… are they?

Rescue Me Romance is a series of stand-alone novellas. Each book promises a sweet, steamy, happily ever after... with a loving rescue pet!

Katana Collins - Grateful For You review

Oooh, what an enjoyable read! I must say I don't typically love an insta-love but this book was so believable and I couldn't put it down. Piper is down on her luck. She's in the process of changing her life when she meets Mason. She doesn't have much to offer Mason in terms of a thank you, except her expertise in the kitchen. She wows him with her skills and there is definitely a connection between them. While it seems fast to most people, they just work. However, Piper knows it's fast and she wants to make sure they're making the right decision. But the love between them was strong. I enjoyed going back to Maple Grove and the friends and family around them. This was a sweet holiday read!

Piper Morgan is on the run with only a duffle bag, two hundred dollars in the bank, and her most precious cargo... her dog, Athena. After her car skids off the road the day before Thanksgiving in the small town of Maple Grove, she's rescued by the small town's gorgeous sheriff. She's immediately attracted to him, but she's already learned the hard way to not let her guard down around the wrong man.

Mason Brecht is Maple Grove's most eligible bachelor, but as the sheriff of the small town, rescuing people just comes with the job. At least that's what he tells himself when he sees Piper's car slide off the road and into a ditch. Intent on not allowing this captivating woman spend Thanksgiving alone, Mason soon realizes she is not only beautiful, but she's smart, driven, and extremely courageous.

Though Mason tries to resist Piper, the attraction between them roars to life. If only Mason could convince Piper to stop running and stay in Maple Grove with him... for good.

Katana Collins - Directing You review

This book was sexy from the beginning! Reid and Hazel’s first meeting may have been unconventional but their attraction was undeniable. Their relationship was taboo, for a semester. Reid and Hazel wanted things to work between them and were aware they needed to be careful. And what Reid was offering his class had nothing to do with what was going on personally. I liked how Reid was Hazel’s champion. And there were several what the heck moments that had me reading faster to find out what’s next?! And this ending! Ooh boy. I was lost in this sweet, steamy and all-around great read! Don’t let this book pass you by!

From Amazon Top 100 bestselling author Katana Collins, a steamy standalone contemporary romance...

Hazel Moon…
Talented actress.
Stunning burlesque dancer.
Man-eater.
…My student.

When she pulled me on stage during her burlesque routine at The Ruby Slipper, I had no way of knowing that the very next day she’d walk into my classroom. After our one night together, I thought I’d never see her again.

I was already causing quite a stir on my first day as the famous Broadway director turned professor… the last thing I needed was a scandal.

I wasn’t surprised by the raw desire I continued to feel for her. But I was surprised by the magnitude of her talent as an actress, singer, and dancer. When she auditioned for the lead in my new show, I had to admit… she was utterly perfect for the part.

She was my star.
My leading lady.

And completely off-limits.

Katana Collins - Beefcakes review and excerpt

   Beefcakes - BT banner

Things are about to get sticky...

Beefcakes, an all-new ”amazing and unforgettable” romantic comedy from Katana Collins, is available now!

9.11_Beefcakes

I might as well permanently add the label "Ex" to my name. I'm an Ex-Mr. Universe. Ex-Mr. Olympus. An Ex-Hollywood Stuntman. But no one from my small hometown cares anything about that. They only care that I'm the ex-boyfriend to the beloved Mayor's daughter, Elaina Dyker.
And now, ten years later, I'm back, helping my siblings run my mother's bakery while she takes on chemo. What should have been a routine cupcake delivery turns into utter chaos when the bachelorette party thinks I'm a stripper. And what's worse? Elaina is the maid of honor.
But the meme about us sure went viral fast. My small hometown has become positively infested with tipsy bridesmaids looking for my erotic cupcakes.
Now Hollywood's knocking again—and this time they want me and my ex, Mr. Beefcake and Ms. Prude, to star in a reality show.
It could solve all my problems—except her.

My Review
Oh, Neil and Elaina are the unexpected couple. And they unexpectedly run into each other when things go terribly wrong on Neil's way to deliver cupcakes to Elaina's sister's bachelorette party! And the media storm that surrounds them is definitely not one either saw coming. But you know what they say: strike while the iron is hot! And that's exactly what Ash and Jude do with their buddy Neil. When life gives you lemons, make chocolate cake! (Read the book to find out what I'm referring to) I liked the circumstances in which Elaina and Neil are thrown together again and despite the bad feelings in the past, they have to work together now. They're both motivated by different things, but all the cards are on the table and they aren't hiding from each other. I loved the feels this book gave me and I was cheering for this couple as things progressed. If you like a sweet, sexy and completely different romance, then be sure to grab this book! It's one you'll easily be able to get lost in! And you might want to have some cupcakes lying around while you read this. Just sayin!

Beefcakes - Teaser 8 AN

Excerpt

I arched my brow at her. “I bragged about knowing you so well…but man. I did not see this almond croissant massacre coming. What do you have against almonds? Or was it the amount of butter that offended you? Because as a fitness expert, let me tell you butter isn’t the enemy. Sugar is the enemy.”
She laughed. “I, uh…I might have some anger management issues.”
I took the bag from her and peeked in. There were knuckle marks against the outside of the croissant. Literal knuckle marks. I barked a laugh. “Elaina Dyker. Did you punch the croissant?”
She laughed, pressing her lips together as though this would hide the fact that I saw her adorable little giggle. She brought her thumb and forefinger up beside her temple. “Maybe a little.”“Did you even try a bite?”
She shook her head no. “I like my routine. I like my daily lunch of yogurt and almonds.”
I made a face. Because she had to be exaggerating. Sure…she liked them. But having that same thing every day? Even chocolate cake every day would get tedious. “You can like yogurt and almonds but still indulge every now and then, you know.” I reached in and pinched off a piece of the smashed croissant, holding it out toward her lips. “C’mon. Live a little. I promise you, it is actually healthy, if that’s your concern.” Not that she needed to be concerned about that. “Almond flour. Gluten free. Grain free. Only two net carbs. The only sugar is the honey in the honey roasted almonds and the natural sugar in dates.” Her eyes grew wide at that and I knew I had hooked her.
She reached out her hand to take the piece of croissant from me, but I pulled back. “Nuh-uh,” I teased. “We can’t have your fingers getting sticky. Might ruin that fancy suit you’re wearing.”
She rolled her eyes, but parted her wet lips, her tongue peeking out just enough for me to place the croissant on top of. She moaned as soon as it hit her mouth, and her eyes fell closed as she slowly chewed and swallowed. “That’s…that’s healthy?”
I nodded. “See? I’m not just a pile of muscles. I’ve got some talent, too.”
Her head fell to the side. “I never said you weren’t talented. I just wish you wouldn’t show off quite so much of your other assets.”
I grinned. “I thought you liked my assets?”
“I do,” she answered absentmindedly, then immediately shook her head, realizing what she’d said. “I mean, I did.”
About Katana
  KC - Photo
As an author and a story-teller, it is the lifeblood to which my ideas take flight. And I believe in giving credit where credit is due. Occasionally someone (ie – my husband) will try to secretly switch out my beloved regular coffee for decaf. I always know the difference. ALWAYS (I’m looking at you, SEAN). I am incapable of achieving the perfect ponytail. I’m dyslexic. I can never wear white without spilling on myself. And I’ve never read Pride and Prejudice (gasp!). When I was younger and stole my mother’s Harlequins to read beneath the covers with a flashlight (seriously, did we ALL do this? I think we did.), I wanted to read about the tough as nails heroine. The perfectly imperfect girl with quirks and attitude and sass. And the anti-heroes who were anything but “Prince Charming.” Forget the knight on a white horse… give me the bad boy on a motorcycle. So, now, I write those romance novels I craved to see on the shelves all those years ago—the sassy heroines. The badass heroes. I spend my days in the throes of my imagination, and am loving every minute of it. I can travel anywhere and become anyone I want to be. One day, I’m a mechanic in Boston and the next, I’m a vampire stripping in Las Vegas. Since penning my first novel back in 2012, I’m now an international author with 15 published books, in a wide range of contemporary romance genres–(Paranormal, New Adult, Small town, Erotic Suspense… you name it!). After living for a decade in Brooklyn, NY, I took the plunge and moved to beautiful (although kinda chilly) Portland, Maine. I now live full time in ‘Vacationland’ with a kind of mean cat, a mellow chihuahua, and a very NOT mellow lab-pittie mix. Oh, yeah… there’s a husband who draws comics somewhere in that mix, too. I can usually be found in a coffee shop with my nose in my laptop wearing fabulous (albeit sometimes impractical) shoes. I love connecting with readers and fellow sassy storytellers, so feel free to drop me an email at katana.collins@gmail.com or connect with me on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter (@katanacollins). You can find a list of my available books over on my Bookshelf or if you’ve already read a book, it would make my day if you wrote a review! Katana Collins - Sweet On You review

This book was so much fun to get lost in! I adored Lex and Ronnie! Lex had a past, one that he worked every day to overcome. He realized his mistakes and was trying to right the wrong. Lex was a good man. He was making a life for himself, he cared for his friends and he was interested in Ronnie, even though things in his life were up in the air. Ronnie was a tough nut to crack. She didn’t let many people in. I enjoyed the chemistry between this couple and how realistic life was for them. Sure, they had some things thrown at them that were not your every day but they were adults and handled it as it came. I enjoyed the way Lex and Ronnie cared for each other and did the necessary things to make their lives easier. I adored them and didn't want to leave their world! And now that I know how this book ends, I'm SOOOOOO looking forward to what's next from Katana Collins! Don't let this book pass you by!

Pros to dating Lex Bailey:
Sexiest man I've ever seen
Panty-Melting British Accent
Talented Baker

Cons to dating Lex Bailey:
Turned me down when I asked him out...
in front of my entire family...
at my brother's engagement party.

Oh, and he has a secret. A big secret.

So... no. I don't think I'll be giving him any second chances. But my foster dog? He has other ideas. This dog has issues... and Lex's cat has the cure.

Unfortunately, I'm not exactly a forgive and forget kind of person. And even though both my dog and I appreciate the help, this time, I'm not going to let him get close enough to break my heart. This time, Lex Bailey is staying at arm's length.

Katana Collins - Role Play review

Book: Role Play
Author: Katana Collins
Book 2: Silhouette Studios Series - can most definitely be read as standalone
Genre: Movie Star Romance/BDSM

** LIVE NOW **

Love shouldn't hurt... at least, that's what everyone tells me. But when I'm with Ash? Not only does it hurt... but I beg for more.
Ash Livingston is Hollywood's bad boy A-list director. I'm Hollywood's hardest working unknown costume designer just starting out in the industry. A nobody... but a nobody with a big secret.
Never in a million years did I think he'd be my boss. Never in a million years did I think I'd learn about the man beneath the persona. Never in a million years did I think I'd fall in love with him.
I might be unknown... but when I'm with Ash, I feel seen. I feel heard. I'm somebody. Even if it is all just role play.

My Review

Oh. My. Heavens. This book!!!!!!!! It’s just magical. It gave me ALL. THE. FEELS. and I didn’t want it to end. After Callback, I have been anxiously awaiting Ash’s story and Katana did NOT disappoint! I enjoyed the way the chapters flipped between each of their POV. And my heart went out to Lucy from the beginning. The reader sees a large piece of her history and how it shaped her into the woman she is. While we don’t know all the ends and outs, the reader knows her past greatly affected her.

Ash is working on the biggest movie of his career. However, things are a little rocky in the beginning.  It was suggested to him he needed new perspective. And he’s immediately drawn to the wardrobe assistant. She piques his interest and captivated him. I enjoyed the chemistry between Ash and Lucy and how they were learning from each other. I was completely consumed by them and didn’t want to put this book down. The feels were intense and their story realistic. Katana did a great job of drawing the reader in and slowly telling Ash’s story.  I can’t recommend this book enough!

Excerpt
Excerpt of their meet cute:
I turned to leave, nearly plowing into a girl walking up behind me. Stacks of male blazers were draped across her arms so that just a cute button nose and black rectangular glasses framing large, brown eyes peeked out from behind.
“Oh! I'm so sorry.” She tried to step out of my way, but in doing so, one of her ballet flats flipped off her foot causing her to fall backwards. I caught her just in time around her petite waist, her cotton T-shirt inching its way up to her rib cage. My hand was flat against the soft skin of her abs.
"Lucy!" Kelly hissed. "You are holding thousands of dollars worth of garments. If you ruin those, it would take you months to reimburse the loss."
"It was my fault Kelly," I said. "I wasn't looking where I was going." I stole another glance at the girl—at Lucy—and was awarded with a shy smile in return. That little quirk of her plump, peony-colored lips, and she shifted the blazers to one arm, adjusting her glasses in a way that was so fucking cute and unassuming. It only took a moment for recognition to snake across her features.
“Mr. Livingston,” she gasped, that smile quivering at the corners. “I’m so sorry—” Her voice was now hoarse, and those sweet lips parted as a sharp inhale caught in her throat.
Energy swirled between us; something calm and potent. That moment, looking into Lucy’s eyes was a breath of stillness on an otherwise chaotic, crazy set. I wanted to breathe her in, absorb that calm energy she exuded; swallow her shy, quiet demeanor and bathe in it all day long.
She’s cute. It was my late wife, Brie’s voice again. Brie would have liked her. That warm feeling surged down to my heart, needling me in a way I both loved and hated.
Her brows tugged together as I felt my breath catch in my throat. It only lasted a second—our connection. But it was consuming. I cleared my throat, stepping back from Lucy. She didn’t look like she belonged in this business based on what little I’d seen of her shy personality. Her chin dipped lower, and she cast her eyes to the ground.
I studied her subtle movement. To most people, it would be nothing. But to me? I saw her raw, untapped need—the quick-to-please nature; her innate receptiveness to the hierarchy of Dominant-submissive relationships. Like she could sense I was in charge and not only acknowledged it, but accepted it with that small dip of her head.
My cock twitched against the zipper of my flat front dress pants.
That in itself was nothing new. But the tug at my gut; the tightness, and the moment of tenderness I felt for a brief second. That was new. And terrifying. Fuck me. I had to get out of there—and fast. “It was my fault, Lucy.”
Behind me, Kelly scoffed. “You remember her name, I see.”
I swallowed a sigh. “I’ll see you both on set.”
Lucy peeked up over the top rim of her glasses. Those eyes—endless, dark orbs that were wide and wet—latched onto mine, and her pink tongue swiped across her full top lip.
I have to have her. The thought came before I had the good sense to stop it. Dammit. I didn’t discern between women. I loved them all—all shapes, sizes, hair color. But at LnS? I didn’t find many women like Lucy. Even with my seasoned subs, they had their ways of seeking me out. Subtle usually… not like Kelly or most other aggressive women I met at the average bar. But there was something different about Lucy. I tore my eyes away from her and walked briskly out of the room. As I turned the corner down the hallway, I heaved a deep breath, falling back against the wall. The cool, painted walls were chilly against the backs of my sweaty shoulders, and I brushed my fingers over the metal band, closing my eyes and trying to picture Brie's face.
But for the first time in five years, Brie's eyes weren't what I saw in my mind.

😉 I can usually be found in a coffee shop with my nose in my laptop wearing fabulous (albeit sometimes impractical) shoes.

Marlena

Everyone has their limits. Mine? It's one that should have never been crossed. Now thanks to my ex-boyfriend, all of Hollywood thinks I trade sex for roles. You can imagine how my auditions go these days. This town has enough real scandals without him adding fake ones to the mix. But I have a plan. And it was going so well... until Jude Fisher came along.

Jude
When my ex-wife sold the footage of herself cheating on me with another man, I was done. With scandal, with her, with all the fakeness this industry thrives on. Finding her as the only actress up for co-lead in my new BDSM movie was the last thing I needed. Then Marlena Taylor auditioned, and I found everything I need. A gifted actress, a natural submissive… and a woman I can’t resist.
All she’s missing is knowledge about the lifestyle--my lifestyle.
I'm more than happy to tutor her--to show her the ropes, if you will. I’ll teach her everything about the games. The toys. The dynamic.
I'll teach her everything but the sex. That’s my hard limit.
But we’re quickly finding out that there’s no limit to what’s between us.

I swallowed, my stomach tight and crossed my legs to relieve the ache at the apex of my thighs. Then, I placed the other half of the caramel in my mouth, sucking the melted chocolate from my thumb, rolling my tongue over the tip of my finger, imagining it was the tip of Jude’s cock. As the caramel dripped down my throat, thick and creamy, my mind exploded with imagery of Jude and caramel drizzled on various parts of his body. A moan escaped from somewhere low in my throat. The guttural sound unlike any noise I’d heard myself make in the past and my eyes shot open. Did anyone hear that? My face burned and I scanned the room, looking for anyone who might be watching me; laughing at me. No one looked my direction. Most bodies were still writhing on the dance floor. Or at the bar ordering. Omar was just to the side of the dance floor, facing the opposite wall talking on his phone. What is wrong with me? This was a chocolate covered caramel for God’s sake. Not a vibrator. Not porn. Not a sexy romance novel.... One single piece of candy and I was so damned hot, I was considering rushing home to have a little quality time with my battery-operated boyfriend. My gaze settled back onto the nearly full box of caramels beside the peonies. I wanted another. Wanted more of what I’d just had. But Jude had specifically said only one more for tonight. Heat curled around my spine and I clutched my hands together. If I was a submissive, following this rule would be part of what made it sexy. And if I was being completely honest with myself, it was sexy. Knowing he was at home, turned on, thinking about me. And knowing I made him happy. The disease to please, my dad called it. But no, it was more than just that. Maybe it was the delayed gratification Jude had mentioned. The fact that this was the only chocolate I was having tonight and so I anticipated it. Waited for it, longing for it. Nervous for it. And it made the caramel so, so much better. Jude’s pleasure was only part of that. Dipping my hand into my bag, I pulled out Jude’s business card, running my finger along the cornered edge of the paper. Then, grabbing my phone, I punched in his number, texting him. I’ll see you tomorrow at Daisy’s. My mind was made up. Whatever that was I had just experienced? I wanted more of it. Needed more of it. For research, yes. But also for myself. That intense moment of pleasure was unlike anything I’d had before. My phone buzzed in my palm. So, it was good then? Good didn’t even cover it. I swallowed, my thumbs tapping the keys. It was the best salted caramel of my life. How was yours? If I closed my eyes, I could almost hear his low rumbled chuckle. Could almost smell his earthy, spicy scent. I loved every second of it. And I love it even more knowing you enjoyed the experiment, too. The experiment. Was that all I was? Some sort of twisted BDSM Pygmalion? It didn’t matter. The point was, I wanted this part. And it was clear I had a lot to learn about this lifestyle—about Jude’s lifestyle—despite the hours I’d spent Googling and on FetLife. Three little dots appeared above Jude’s name. He was typing more. You did a great job tonight. Have fun, be sure to drink some water and take a Tylenol before bed. “I was wondering what was taking so long.” Omar’s voice boomed above me and I jumped, startled, clutching the phone tighter. He laughed. “I should have guessed you dug back into those caramels. I’ll go get us the next round.” He turned toward the bar. “And a water,” I blurted out, my eyes falling to Jude’s text. “Please.” “Water and a bourbon coming up,” Omar said, walking away. I sighed, leaning back and slid the phone into my purse. If I was going to try this submissive thing for a week, I was going all in. Except for sex. Which, based on how turned on I got from one damned chocolate, might be harder than I thought.

My Review

Ok, I have to be honest.  If I see Katana Collins's name on a book, I will read it. I adore her books and the stories she shares with us readers.  But HOLY COW... THIS BOOK!  I was very quickly sucked into Jude and Marlena's world. The push/pull they had was absolutely delicious.  The chemistry between them was realistic and the feelings were more than either expected.  In the beginning, it was raw chemistry, but it developed into so much more.  The training between them was intense and the trust was a large part of the things happening with them.  In a world (Hollywood) where things are fake and people put on airs to those around them, they had to real and honest with each other.  That in itself was a lesson.  I was completely captured by them and I LOOOOOOVE me some Jude! That man. *sighs*  This book is deep, raw, real and an all-around amazing read. I can't recommend it enough. Go grab your copy today.

She can usually be found hunched over her laptop in a cafe, guzzling gallons of coffee, and wearing fabulous (albeit sometimes impractical) shoes.
