M. O'Keefe - Baby Come Back review

Ahhh, I've been anxiously awaiting Abby's story.  We saw a glimpse of her and Jack in Bad Neighbor, but now this is their story.  I enjoyed how we go back in time to find out how it all began. I could see the parallels in time to Abby's journey and Charlotte's.  You don't have to read Bad Neighbor first, but I do recommend it!

I love the build-up and the angst M. O'Keefe writes into her characters. She holds her readers captive and doesn't let them go until the very last word. I enjoyed the push/pull Abby felt with Jack.  She knew he was bad for her, yet she was drawn to him like a moth to the flame. And even though the reader knows he's bad, I couldn't help but like him! I wanted things to work out with them.  The story is absolutely delicious and I read it in one sitting because I couldn't walk away from them. I enjoyed being wrapped up in their cocoon with them and watching them let everything else drift away. They lived in the moment and didn't let outside forces in until it was too late. The damage was done, emotions were raw and real and for Jack, it was easier to push.  I was gutted. I felt for Abby (kinda funny we have the same name, huh?!) and kept my nose in this book because I had to find out more. Neither Abby nor Jack was expecting the other, or the feelings they provoked. Life isn't rainbows and fairy tales, but real emotions, hope and love.

GAH! This book had all the feels and I LOVE the raw, realness Molly writes. I enjoyed how once the reader sees what happens between Abby and Jack, Jesse and Charlotte are brought back into the story for a glimpse of what is happening with their lives. I HIGHLY recommend both of these books. SO SO GOOD!

"Breathtaking and incredibly sexy, BABY, COME BACK is an emotional tour de force."

A MAN WITH NOTHING LEFT TO LOSE

I sold my soul a long time ago to pay my father’s debts. Now my life is a prison: no friends. No family. Nothing it would hurt to lose.

I never should’ve touched Abby. I tried not to, but she is beautiful, magnetic, sexy. Everything I want but can't let myself have.

UNTIL HE MET HER

She seduced me not knowing who I was or what I really do in the shadows. I should have resisted her, but I wanted to be the man Abby thought I was for as long as I could.

But all debts must be paid, sooner or later. And mine are paid with blood.

Now Abby knows who I am, what I am, and she’s run from me.

I would have let her go for her own good. But when I find out she’s carrying my baby — there’s nowhere she can hide…
