Ahhhh, I ADORE Carly's books and this series has been great! This book was no exception. This time, we finally get Derek's story. Derek and Cassie go way back. Their families knew each other growing up because Derek's parents worked for Cassie's parents. They were the "hired help". Derek was more than that and thought Cassie was different but he overheard her conversation with her friends and decided she wasn't who he thought she was. Fast forward to now and Derek is looking for revenge on her family. Her father cost him everything and he wants to bring them down. Due to their career choices, they suddenly have a chance to cross paths and truths will become known. Some things aren't as they appeared and the chemistry between them heats up. Cassie tried to ignore it, but soon they can't deny it any longer. They knew each other as kids, but this time they were learning about the adult version of themselves and it was an easy relationship for them. I enjoyed how open Derek was with Cassie and he didn't want her to misunderstand anything. He wanted them to be confident in them as a couple and didn't want to give her reason to leave him. Their story was sweet, sad and oh-so-delicious. I HIGHLY recommend this book! And now I'm DEFINITELY looking forward to Julian and Kendall's story in Going In Deep!
