My Review

I ADORED this book! I've loved Kane in other books so I was excited to get his story. Simone was perceived one way in the tabloids so when Kane is asked to temporarily step in as her security, he's not looking forward to it. I enjoyed the way RC shows Kane (and the reader) who Simone really is. She's a sweetheart and Kane can't help but start to feel again. They've both lost and had their hearts broken. I liked the slow burn between them and the FEELS this book had! I was completely captured by them and didn't want to leave their world. I can't recommend this book enough!

So sad. The Ice Princess of Pop is heartbroken.” My response? Fuck that noise. I’m writing from my heart and soul, regardless of how damaged they might be at any given time. And as long as my fans continue to support me, I’m going to keep on keepin’ on. “I’d like to dedicate this song to a special person.” I duck my chin, willing myself to maintain composure. “It’s called ‘Embers.’” Once I strum the first note on my guitar, everything around me fades. My voice emerges from the shards scattered within my chest where my working heart once was. When I play that final chord, I see tears streaming down the faces of the fans in the front rows. And yet again, I’m reminded of something all too easily forgotten. That there are others who can relate to lyrics written from my soul’s breath. Because in heartache, we’re never truly alone.

My Review

I was excited to get my hands on this read and Laurelin did not disappoint. This book picks up where the first one left off. My heart was in my throat and I was on the edge of my seat. The way in which this story was told made me feel for Celia and understand her better. I was hopeful my outlook on her would change and the reader gets a good glimpse into why she's the way she is. This journey was hard for Celia and she had to really look into herself and wasn't expecting Edward to push her. Her emotions were a dam she had shoved inside of her and she needed Edward.

When Edward started this journey, he wasn't expecting Celia to be the way she was. He was expecting things to be black and white. And they weren't. She managed to wiggle her way into his life. I liked the push/shove between this couple. Their chemistry was intense and the emotions between them were explosive. I was completely captured by their journey and I need more, PRONTO! Go get this book!

Yes, she was calculating and manipulative, and she was very spoiled about getting her way, but that was all surface. She was an onion. There were layers and layers underneath, parts of her that she held away. Parts she showed no one. For whatever reason, I’d caught sight of what she kept hidden, whether she’d meant for that to happen or not, I couldn’t be sure. Regardless, I was captivated. There was so much to see there, so much to take down. So much of her to know and own and destroy and redesign, and like an old habit, I couldn’t break away.

She was an addiction, and I wanted to feed on it. She wasn’t supposed to be like that.

She wasn’t supposed to want to bend to my whims. She wasn’t supposed to open up and give what I asked for. She wasn’t supposed to be so eager to take what I gave her. She certainly wasn’t supposed to see past my own curtain, wasn’t supposed to ask to see more.

My Review

I was excited to dive into this book! The description fascinated me and I devoured this read. I was very quickly drawn into Kingston and Bryce's world. I LOVED the chemistry between this couple. It was palpable and h-o-t-t! I loved the danger and the mystery this book held. I wanted Bryce to dig and find that story, but Kingston was an added bonus! Tin Gypsies have their own secrets and they don't need a hungry reporter digging up the dirt. I liked her fierceness and her moxie. I enjoyed the push/pull between Kingston and Bryce. I loved Kingston and wanted his secrets as much as I wanted the two of them to stop fighting the tension between them. This story was very enjoyable and I can't recommend it enough! Be sure to grab your copy!

This book wasn't what I expected but I loved every moment of it. This book starts in the past so the reader can see what happened between Sam and Tate before we get to the now. This book held me captivated. I felt the connection between Sam and Tate and I wanted their whirlwind romance to last. And I felt Tate's heartbreak. This was a fun, sweet read! Elle had had some crummy things happen to her in the past and she was focused on what she needed to do to graduate, even though she was wearing herself thin. Nix was the football player everyone loved and her arch nemesis. Until things shift and these two found a truce. I enjoyed the shift in their relationship and the way Elle let her defenses down and allowed Nix in to her inner circle. This book was angsty and sweet. Nix had to tread carefully but he realized Elle was worth it. I enjoyed this read!
