Gina Gordon - Reason to Believe

This is my 2nd Gina Gordon book and I REALLY enjoy her writing style!  Her stories are ones to easily get swept away by and this book is no exception.  I was captured in Grace and Ben's world and didn't want to put the book down. They both have a past that they feel shouldn't allow them what they want.  Grace has a hard time with the fact that she used to be an escort. She wants her Prince Charming, but wonders what man will look past what she used to do for a living.  Ben hasn't gotten close to anyone in years and keeps women at an arm's distance.  He's a VP for an adult media company and is surrounded by sex daily.  He's given up sex himself, but he's not far from it with his job.

These two have a past together and their friends are in a relationship and that throws them together more often than not.  They have to discover how to be around each other and move on from the past.  Grace wants her Prince Charming on a white knight, but (thinks) Ben isn't him.  He's known to be the one that's up for a good time.  Ben has been celibate, and tries his hardest to resist Grace, but their chemistry is too strong and they both give in.  Their passion is hot, sweet and entirely what neither expected.

I love the stories where the H/h are only in it for sex, then realize the other person offers so much more. They fight it tooth and nail, yet can't help but falling in love.   This story is realistic and easy to get caught up in.  These two people have a similar background with their careers, but there's more to them than meets the eye.  The build up to their journey is delicious and their story is SO SO SWEET! I found myself cheering Ben on as he embraced who he was and learned to go after what he wanted.  Some of his story was cringe worthy because he didn't believe in himself, but Grace helped him to see himself through her eyes and everyone else.  They both were there for the other as they overcame obstacles and it made them stronger, unbeknownst to them!  This book is totally swoon worthy and definitely not one to miss out on!

This is book 2 in the series, and even though I hadn't read the first book, Rush, I didn't feel lost or like I had missed out.  I'm telling you, reader, in case you want to read them in order, which I usually prefer to do.  But I want to go back and read it to get the full details of Everly and Max's story.

**ARC received from NetGalley for my honest review**

“Gina Gordon never disappoints,” declares Jen McLaughlin! In this sizzling novel, two outsiders trying to turn their lives around find everything they’re looking for in each other’s arms.

Grace: I thought that reinventing myself as a corporate go-getter would be easy compared to my old life as an escort, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. After taking a full-time office job, my past has come back to haunt me, my love life is nonexistent, and I miss sex—even with the lying cheats who used to be my clients. The trouble is, the closest thing to a man in my life is Ben Lockwood. After pushing me away, that jerk has the nerve to ask a favor—so why is he so hard to resist?

Ben: Working my way up from cameraman to vice president of an adult media company has been . . . interesting. To focus on my career, I swear off all distractions—especially sex—and turn to Grace Nolan, the most poised and polished woman I know, for help cleaning up. But after my little vow of celibacy, spending time with Grace is pure torture. I can’t touch her, and yet I can’t stop thinking about her. And deep down, I know the reason why.
