Mari Carr - March Wind release blitz

Title: March Wind by Mari Carr

Date of Publication: September 12, 2017

Blurb

Even if I'd known I would lose Sunday McCormick Collins so early, I would have married that beautiful woman. What we shared is all I've ever wanted for my children and my grandchildren. Love isn't about the happy ending. It's about the happiness found each and every day you're together. – Patrick "Pop" Collins
Padraig Collins loves his bartending job at Pat's Pub, the Baltimore hangout owned by his equally beloved family. He's young, carefree, filled with starry-eyed hopes and dreams for his future…which are irrevocably thrown off course when patron Mia Curtis comes into the bar, visibly upset. When she leaves in tears, Padraig follows. He hopes to give the young woman comfort and assurance. What he gets in return is a massive dose of reality.
Mia has a ticking time bomb in her head, an inoperable tumor, with a diagnosis of only six months to live. As Padraig lets her cry on his shoulder, listens to her heartbreakingly detail the things she'll never get to experience, he's forced to face some hard facts about the way he's lived his own life up to this point. Meandering through each day as if youth means immortality, and he has all the time in the world.
An evening of soul-searching leads to a life-changing decision—Padraig will help Mia accomplish everything on her bucket list. He won't let her die with a single regret. But that goal transforms into something far deeper when Padraig falls in love with the courageous woman. His once endless future shrinks to months instead of years, accompanied by a crushing sense of desperation.
Until they realize life isn't measured in time. It's measured in moments…
This story will hopefully widen your definition of a traditional happy-ever-after. Not all of us get the luxury of a lifetime…but that doesn't mean we can't have a lifetime's worth of love in the time we're given.

I’ve discovered Donovan Kincaid’s secret.
It’s dirty and filthy and rich – as dirty and filthy and rich as he is – and it haunts me as much as he ever did.
Even after knowing what I know now, I still want to talk to him, to touch him. But there’s an ocean between us, and I’m not sure it can be crossed with something as easy as a phone call or a plane ride.
Yet I’m willing to try.
He doesn’t know this yet, but this time I’m the one with the power. And maybe – just maybe – if the air were cleared and all our secrets bared, there could still be a chance for us.
And this dirty, filthy thing between us might end up being love after all.

My Review

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVED this book! It was a great conclusion to Donovan and Sabrina's story! Laurelin sucked me and didn't let me go until the very last word. I was completely consumed by them. This was a 5 star binge read for me.  This book gave me all the feels. I love how Laurelin's writing pulls the reader into the characters' lives and makes the reader feel all the emotions.
Sabrina and Donovan's pull toward each other was strong. The reader can feel their love through the pages. Donovan understood her like no one else ever had and made her feel cherished. I loved the things he did for her and enjoyed their journey. Do you ever read a book and set it down, like, what. just. happened?! I'm sad that it's over.  That was me.  Gave me a book hangover. I loved every minute of it and can't tell you enough how good it was. I HIGHLY recommend this read.

Excerpt:
He took another step toward me, and I started to step back, but there was a counter behind me, so I had to stay put. And maybe I wanted to stay put. He was only a foot and a half away from me now.
“But I haven’t lied to you, Sabrina.” His gaze never left mine. “And I’m not lying when I say I don’t give a fuck about anybody else’s cunt but yours.”
We stood there, not touching, not speaking, each of us standing our ground. But I had no basis to keep my position, and it felt like he’d won so much already.
I couldn’t back down.
“Prove it,” I said.
His expression flared, his eyes growing dark and mean, and I realized what I’d done. Donovan wasn’t one to be provoked.
I’d just invited the devil out to play.
“Unzip your skirt and put your hands on the counter behind you.”
My heart hammered and my belly twisted. My panties were embarrassingly drenched all of a sudden, and I wanted him. But I stood completely still. “I didn’t—”
He cut me off. “No talking and unzip your skirt.”
My mouth slammed shut, but I still didn’t move. If I moved, I’d be asking for this. But if I talked, I’d be telling him to stop.
And I didn’t want this to stop.
I just didn’t want to ask for it because I was stubborn and stupid for wanting him in the first place.
But he would give it to me without the words, without my obedience. Because he knew me. He knew what I needed.
With his eyes never leaving mine, he found the zipper at the side of my waist and pulled it down. After that, the skirt was loose enough that all he had to do was tug it once and it fell easily to my feet. He nudged his knee against my inner leg, and automatically I stepped that foot out of the pool of material on the floor, widening my stance.
He gave a nod of praise, sending a jolt of warmth through my entire body.
Then he bent down in front of me.
Suddenly, breathing was harder than it should have been. My chest moved up and down, air passed through my mouth, but I couldn’t get enough of it to my lungs.
And he hadn’t even touched me yet.
The sight of him alone—Donovan Kincaid, one of the most powerful men in the world, down on his knees in his black Ermenegildo Zegna suit—it was overwhelming and erotic, and by the time he put his hand at the back of my knee, I was already trembling.

Liz Crowe - Gravity review

I've read the other Brewing Passion series books, but this one was deep and heavy.  It mainly focused on the addictions and the people dealing with them, Brock and Kayla. They seem like an unlikely duo, but they complemented each other well. They understood what the other was going through and was able to support them in a different way. Even though this was a sad topic, this book was well written and I felt like the reader understood and sees things through the addicts eyes. For me, it made me feel for the characters and I wanted to cheer them on! I enjoyed Brock and Kayla's interactions with each other and to their families. They are a support for their family as well as they are for them.  Their story felt realistic and was scary, sweet, sexy and full of emotions. I was captivated by their journey and highly recommend. I do also recommend reading the 3 other books in the series first, before reading this one.

Book four in the Brewing Passion series

Out of the ashes of ruined lives they finally find love.

When Brock Fitzgerald is welcomed back into his family thanks to the sympathy of his sister-in-law Evelyn and the tolerance of his twin brother Austin, he understands that this may be the best he’ll ever get for himself. Years spent partying, drinking and screwing his way through life have left him drained, exhausted and accepting of his many weaknesses. He’s grateful for the second chance he’s been offered, even as he continues to battle his demons, including one that leads him back into co-dependency with his oldest girlfriend.

Kayla Hettinger never imagined that once she declared herself clean after several near-overdoses of opiates she’d find herself tending bar for her brother’s fiancĂ©e Melody, and enjoying what life she’d managed to build. When she strikes up a friendship with Brock over shared experiences and ginger ale, she discovers something needier and more frightening inside herself—and in Brock—than either of them feels equipped to handle.

Breaking through the clutter of addiction and despair only to find your soulmate waiting on the other side seems like the stuff of fairy tales—until Brock and Kayla accept that being dependent on one another is the only way they’ll survive.

Kendall Ryan - Dirty Little Secret excerpt reveal

Gavin Kingsley burst into my life in a sharp and unexpected twist of fate. You know his type—arrogant, dangerously handsome and impossible to ignore. Something dark within him calls to the shadows inside me. I long for the kind of heart-wrenching passion I’ve only read about, and his tragic past reads like one of my favorite literary classics. Raw. Visceral. Captivating. Together, we’re a perfect mess. The deeper I fall into his world, the more I crave him like a drug—he pushes every boundary I have, and challenges everything I thought I wanted. I want to unlock his heart. I want his dirty secrets. But in the end, will he be the blade that cuts me ... or the bond that makes my life complete? Written in the same vein as Kendall Ryan’s New York Times bestselling and much loved international phenomenon, Filthy Beautiful Lies, Dirty Little Secret begins an erotic new series.

“Emma could be the perfect companion, don’t you think?” I turned to face his desk, where he still sat. He rolled his eyes, and I swooped in for the kill. He’d had his chance. I’d given it to him on a silver platter. Which meant that the coast was clear. If he didn’t want her . . .
“So, you don’t mind if I take her to the Bennett Foundation gala?” I raised my eyebrows.
Gavin’s brow furrowed but his eyes went ice cold, his pause saying far more than his words. “Of course not. Why would I mind?”
Bullshit.
Maybe this little push was just what he needed to get his head out of his ass.
I nodded. “Good.”
His mouth turned down a notch, and I could tell he was thinking. Processing.
For a moment, I didn’t think he was going to take the bait. But then, I knew my brother. I’d laid down a challenge, questioned why he was so adamantly against the idea of hiring her, and although he didn’t want to open up and share, this topic was far from over. Our calendars were slammed, and we both knew it. His assistant had joked just that morning that it would make her job a hell of a lot easier if we each just found a girlfriend. Gavin had scoffed so hard, I thought he was going to bust an artery. Gavin heaved out a sharp exhale. “What makes you so interested in her, anyway? I thought they were all a number on a paycheck to you?”
I shrugged. “They are until they’re not. You, of all people, should know—”
“Enough,” Gavin barked.
“Right.” I shoved my hands in my pockets. “Shame, though. Seems like there’s something . . . interesting between you two.” Briefly, I wondered if they had a history.
“Anything you want to tell me?”
“No, but I have a question for you,” he snapped back with a lethal smile that didn’t reach his narrowed eyes. “What the fuck are you still doing in my office?” “Trying to find out whether you’re going to let me have this one, or if we’re going to be fighting for the same prize,” I answered honestly.
Gavin looked up from his screen. “Are you high?” His mouth thinned into a firm, chiseled line. “If you want her, take her. I’m not playing with her like she’s a chew toy.”
“Okay. But that doesn’t change the fact that you need a date to the charity auction. A girl like her on your arm? Imagine the business we could do. She’s like a walking commercial. And when you’re done rubbing elbows with all the fancy people, I’ll take her off your hands for a couple of events of my own. Use your head, man, she’s perfect. The girl every guy wants to be seen with. Sweet enough to bring home to Mother, hot enough to imagine her on her knees, with that mouth—”
“Got it,” Gavin snapped. He stared at a point on the ceiling, then blew out an annoyed sigh. “If I take her to the fucking auction, will you stop, already?”
“Yup.”
“I’ll tell you right now, though, if this is business, neither of us are sleeping with her.”
I bit back a laugh but nodded anyway. If that was what Gavin wanted to tell himself, I wasn’t about to stop him. Fact was, though, if she would have either of us, we’d probably get our dicks caught in our zippers in the rush to get our pants off. Telling him that would only make him change his mind, and I’d gotten what I wanted.
If this girl had my big brother this riled up? She was something special. And no matter what he thought of himself, he deserved something special in his life again. If I had to agree to take her out as well just to get him to go along with it, so be it.
It wasn’t exactly a hardship, after all.
