Silence met me once again the minute Roan left. The thing about silence is it has the power to make you think. The energy from complete muteness can slow down the mind. In this case, it has mine reeling. I mean, what in the hell was tonight all about? The way he sunk into his chair, one leg crossed over the other, tapping his fingers nervously on his leg. The minute I looked away from him, he was looking at me. I felt like he was studying my profile, searching for something.

I’ve known him for a long time. He’s never been one to keep secrets, unless he’s asked to. If he has something to say, he says it. Roan was off tonight. Something big is going down, and for the life of me, I have no idea what the hell it could be. I’m a member of this family. Been through the ritual of the ceremony, swore to put it first. Keep my mouth shut by pledging an oath of silence. I’ve stuck my neck out many times over the course of this past year. Running errands. Beating the shit out of men who try to pull one over on us. I’m a bodyguard to his woman. Even though their families have made peace with one another, not to mention the red scum of the earth, Royal, is fucking rotting in his hole of death somewhere, the families still have enemies. Especially Alina’s, with her dad and his dealing with drugs.

I push away from the locked door, the only light on in my apartment coming from the half bath in the hallway giving me enough to make my way to my bedroom, still not understanding why the hell the Solokov family still deals those fucked up drugs. After everything these two families have dealt with over the past few years, you would think people would say ‘Fuck this shit, we don’t need it anymore,’ especially the goddamn money. I’ve seen first-hand what money can turn a person into. That shit is not for me. I’m not complaining by any means. I have one hell of a roof over my head. Food in my belly. But fuck me, there’s some crazy ass shit out there. I really don’t have room to talk or to judge, though. Hell, I help steal guns when I’m not watching out for Alina.

My review:

I've been waiting for Cole's story and wow oh wow Tara Sue Me did not disappoint! I was immediately sucked into this story. We met Cole and Sasha in previous books but their story was delicious! Even though we didn't get that much from Nathaniel and Abby, I think this may be my favorite in the series. Cole completely gutted me. THE FEELS!! 

I loved watching the characters develop and watching Cole encourage Sasha and how he showed her how strong she is. And the way he was with her captured my heart. When I first read that there was talk about Master/slave I was unsure about it. But boy, Tara Sue Me wrote it so beautifully and won me over. I was completely captivated by the characters and invested in their story. 

"You give me your body for my pleasure, but in exchange, I give you my very soul. In dominating you, I expose a part of myself that is shown to very few. Tonight, I give that part of me to you for your keeping."  Be still my beating heart! Yes, Cole! The things he would say to Sasha had me completely love him. (If only he were real!) 

This story had me enchanted and I didn't want to put it down. Cole was an enigma in previous stories so to find out about the man, I didn't want to stop reading.  He wasn't just dominate, he was caring, loving and was concerned about Sasha. As their relationship developed, the more Tara Sue Me pulls the reader in. I loved how he was with the fragile Sasha. He saw the woman she was beneath the scars and slowly helped bring her out. What he didn't know was that he needed her as much as she needed him. They were perfect for each other and their story was epic! It was sweet, sexy and their lifestyle worked perfectly for them. I highly recommend this book!  I wish I could read this book for the first time again.

During a lull in the conversation, he leaned forward and lowered his voice. "There's a play party next weekend."
She froze and he could see her process his words and their meaning before she relaxed. "Yes."
"Good job, Sasha. You did what I told you to do earlier, didn't you?" She'd remembered he wouldn't touch her without telling her where and how.
"Yes, Sir."
He nodded. "A fast learner. I like that. I would like for you to attend the party with me."
He paused, gauging her reaction. Her cheeks were flushed with excitement. "I would like that," she said.
"Since the party will be held at Master Greene's house and I don't know if he has granite countertops, I won't have you wear the black lingerie."
Her voice was calm when she asked, "What will you have me wear, Sir?"
"I'll have it sent to you this week." Let her think about it for a while.
"I look forward to it."
"We won't formally participate in any scenes, but you will serve as my submissive."
Her lips parted and she nodded. "Yes, Sir."
"Master Greene has asked me if he can apologize for Peter's actions." He watched her carefully, looking for any hint of panic.
"Will Peter be there?" she asked quietly.
"No, in fact I understand that as a result of the phone call, there's to be a meeting to determine if he should be allowed to remain in the group."
Her eyes widened in shock. She hadn't heard that. He was surprised Julie hadn't told her, but then again, Daniel might not have told Julie.
She straightened her shoulders. "In that case, I'm good with Master Greene apologizing."
"That's what I told him, but I also said I wanted to check with you
She nodded, but then her gaze grew distant and she looked over his shoulder.
"Everything okay?" he asked. "Are you having second thoughts?"
She slowly returned her focus to him. "No, I'm just thinking about Peter. Now that I can think about him and not risk an episode, I often find myself wondering if I missed something, some sign."
"I understand why you'd do that, but your time would be better spent asking yourself what qualities you're looking for in a Dom." He reached into his pocket and took a twenty dollar bill out. "Do you know how they train people to recognize counterfeit money?"
Her forehead wrinkled and she frowned in puzzlement. "Sir?"
He passed her the twenty. "They don't give them the counterfeit bills to study. They only touch and hold the real thing. They become so accustomed to the real money that they immediately recognize the fraud."
"I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to say, Sir."
"Focus on what you want from a Dom, how you want him to treat you. Think through the characteristics of a Dom you'd like to play with. That way when you meet someone and you get to know him, you'll recognize if he's a fraud or not."
She nodded.
"To make sure you understand, I want you to make a list of your top ten requirements from a Dom. We'll go over it next time we meet."
Her gaze grew wistful again, but she smiled and replied with a soft, "Yes, Sir."

Laurelin Paige - Love Struck

This book had me literally laughing out loud ... And look, I even spelled it (LOL) out for you! The story was awesome and captivating from the very beginning. We got a glimpse into Lacy's life and I wanted more. I wanted to find out what happened!!

The flirty banter between LoveCoda and Folx was so much fun to watch. I got pulled into their story and didn't want to look away. I was grinning like a fool reading their exchanges. So. Stinking. Cute. 

And then the pieces started to fall into place and all I could think was OH NO!!! Please don't do that. Talk for crying out loud!!! But this is a a HEA, so that  wasn't happening just yet. I was biting my nails in anticipation. 

I was frustrated at the events taking place but the back of my mind knew they needed to happen but gah! I still had to endure that. And the way things came to a head (haha read this book and you'll see why I'm laughing) was unexpected, amusing and needed to happen. 

This book had all the feels! It was laugh out loud funny, sweet , sassy, sexy and unputdownable! I'm sad to say I own Miss Match which is book 1, but because of my blog reading schedule I haven't been able to read it; but I didn't feel lost while reading this book. I am kicking myself for not having read it though. Laurelin Paige and Kayti McGee are a dynamic duo and putting their talents together is GENIUS!! Do not let this book pass you by. Get it now!
