Tarrah Anders - Summer Fling

Summer Fling

by Tarrah Anders
Publication Date: September 14, 2018
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Purchase: Amazon

Small towns are perfect for summer vacations and summer flings. The night before tourist season hits their sleepy little town, Emma had an impromptu drunken romp with a guy from a party… only to run into him just a few days later. After her last major heartbreak, Emma swore off dating any of the out of towners. She had never questioned that decision… until Royce arrived in town. At first, she thought he was just like any other tourist during the season, here today, gone tomorrow. However, when proved to her that he was putting down roots, that all changed. Emma can only trust what she knows. Tourists always leave and relationships began with them always have an expiration date. She has to protect her heart, even if she knows that if he goes, he will be taking it with him. Only, Royce insists that he is in it for the long haul wants to build his life with her and in Sweeny. He starts giving her a note per date spelling out a single message— one painstaking word at a time. When all of a sudden the past comes barreling into Sweeny and starts to torment both Emma and Royce.

My Review

Emma isn't the type of girl to go after a tourist. She finds herself in bed with one and thinks she's going to move on and forget this ever happened.  However, life has other plans for her and even though things were done backwards, she starts a friendship with Royce.  Royce isn't like other guys she's met before and the little things he did for her were so sweet! I enjoyed watching their relationship evolve and see them learn about each other. Emma is a bit skittish when it comes to relationships and Royce has to be careful not to scare her away.  He took things in stride and when life started rearing it's ugly head at him, he made sure to be honest with her.  Their situation felt realistic and I enjoyed getting lost in their journey! Looking for a sweet, swoony read? Look no further!

About Tarrah Anders

Meet Tarrah. She’s a contemporary romancer who is all about the feels, with the twists of sexy mixed in between. She’s been writing since before she can remember. Writing was always a passion, that was kept it under wraps, stayed on the backburner and never vocalized or followed through with my desire to be a writer, until she read a horrible book and thought: ‘I could do better than that!’ She kept her writing romance from her husband for nearly two years, but finally told him because… royalties and taxes. Now, he lovingly helps with ‘research’ and uses him for his amazing Photoshop skills for her covers. She is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, but living in beautiful San Diego with her own little family while working during the day as a social worker working with the homeless. She is a hardcore San Francisco Giants fan and anything dealing with cupcakes and Zombies. Her writing style is that she tries to keep on earth. She tries her best to not be too unrealistic with her characters, what they do and how they live. She wants her books to be relatable and not to create too many eye rolls, when a character starts calling his love interest baby after knowing her for 5 minutes. She has written and self-published 4 books and one novella. They’re all dual point of view aside from the novella. She is currently working on several pieces but focusing on two mainly. Thematically, the novels are friends to lovers, random hook-ups and office romances mixed with a whole lot of fun in the middle.

Tarrah Anders - Stripped review

I enjoyed the unconventional way Rebeckha and Malcom met.  It was different and totally believable. It was unexpected and unplanned! Their attraction was immediate, but they took their time.  Rebeckha wasn't having things go her way when she met Malcom.  She certainly wasn't looking to date anyone and neither was he.  However, while he wasn't forceful, he didn't let her push him away and remained a constant fixture as their relationship developed.  He had a job many girlfriends wouldn't approve of or be okay with.  While they had to overcome this speed bump, it felt realistic. This book was sweet, lots sexy and one I couldn't put down. I really enjoyed Rebeckha and Malcom's journey. If you're a fan of Magic Mike and/or Thunder From Down Under, I think you'll appreciate things in this story! :)

Acceptance. Trust. Confidence.

Malcolm and I met in an unfortunate way, and he has pushed himself into my life. When my drunk best friend invites him to her wedding as my date, I reluctantly give him a chance. I’m giving US a chance and I’m pleasantly surprised.
Now I need to learn how to accept that he takes his clothes off for women. I need to trust that he’s not wanting to take any of them home. And I need to build the confidence when the green-eyed monster of jealousy rears its evil head.

Tarrah Anders - Froze review

This is the 2nd book in this series and I was excited to read Jacob's story! Jacob was known to be a partier and womanizer. However, despite his mother's expectations of him showing up at events for their company, he kept a low profile. But then Beth changes the game for him and he doesn't want that to be the case.  So we see Jacob struggle to be what he's lead everyone to believe and also have feelings for Beth.  Beth may have played a little dirty to get what she wanted, but Jacob finally stepped up and made his move. I enjoyed how Jacob didn't want to just party and hook up with various girls and he had to work on wooing Beth. He had done the exact opposite with her in the beginning and he needed to show her that he cared, that she wasn't like anyone else.  I enjoyed their story and their journey and I wasn't expecting the things that happened! I was glued to the book and had to know how things would turn out.  This was an interesting read and recommend it!  But, I do recommend reading Frozen Over first, as things will be better understood if you start in series order. Happy reading!

HER: I work for the #1 fashion company, Mad Designs, I'm the personal assistant to the CEO, who also happens to be my best friend. Little does my boss know that I am completely and irrevocably in love or lust, or whatever with HIS brother.

Jacob Maddox is hot, and not just hot but mouth-watering sexy, he is melt your panties, fan yourself like a girl with a crush, holy shit he is looking at me kind of hot!
We had an amazing drunken night together and then he acted as if the night never happened. Admittedly, I did too, except now I knew what it was like to have him naked on top of me, talking dirty in my ear and fucking me ten ways to Friday.
So I may or may not have talked a friend of mine to pretend to be my boyfriend. And I may or may not have pretended that the night we shared was long forgotten just as he has. Actually, I’m lying, as he is all that I think about no matter how hard I try not to.
Was I being catty and sneaky, you can say that.
But I've learned that you got to go after what you want, and I want Jacob Maddox like I want to breathe air.

But of course, I found out that he comes with complications.

HIM: I am one part of Mad Designs and I’ve got it bad for my brothers best friend. We hooked up several months ago and I’ve tried to push back the feelings that I had for Beth, knowing that I wasn’t the type of guy she needed. My past isn’t pretty, and she knows that. But then she starts dating some jerk and I couldn’t have that.
She thinks that she knows me, from what she has seen, but now it’s time for her to get to know the real me.

But then all sh*t hits the fan and I’m afraid I’m going to lose her after I’ve finally got her.

Tarrah Anders - New Year, New You review

I really enjoyed this book from Tarrah Anders! She writes in such a way that you feel the characters pain and love.  I was held captivated by Gabe and Vanessa's story.  The story line moved quickly and was fast paced. It was insta-lust but not insta-love which felt believable. Both of these characters had dealt with a trauma of some sort and they were a kindred spirit. They helped each other move forward and they were sweet, sexy and made for each other. Gabe was patient with Vanessa and helped her get to a better place, just by example, not forcing her to do something she wasn't ready for yet.
I enjoyed the friendship Vanessa had with Mindy. The banter between Vanessa and Mindy was often times laugh out loud funny and realistic.  Mindy was definitely involved in Vanessa and Gabe's lives, sometimes a little to the extreme, but she came from a good place. I enjoyed Vanessa and Gabe's journey and would recommend this read!

Tragedy strikes in Vanessa’s life and she moves back to her childhood home to deal with her families estate where she befriends her neighbor and begins to consider them as family. When her neighbor’s brother comes to stay with them, Vanessa and Gabe spark a friendship which quickly blossoms into a quick paced relationship. Soon after learning that they both went through some incredibly hard experiences, unknowingly they piece each other back together. As things between the two get steamy quickly, Gabe is faced with several job opportunities which could likely lead to him moving out of town.
The hesitation to think about the future, troubles Vanessa until Gabe reveals his decision of a job placement. After Gabe makes his decision, Vanessa begins feeling guilty and heads down a spiral of indecisive feelings until Gabe and his sister talk her into seeing someone to deal with her past and present.
Does their sudden love last?
Or does her guilt pull them apart and break them back into the pieces they were both in when they met?

About the Author:
I am a born and raised California girl, constant daydreamer, yet also a doer. My day job consists of managing subsidies for the homeless, and wrangling my toddler, step-daughter and husband into working together without utter chaos. Whereas my moonlighting gig is that writing some steamy words late into the night or randomly during the day. I have a thing for monkeys, Scott Eastwood and guys with tattoos.

I’ve been writing since I was in middle school and throughout college. While it was a passion, I kept it under wraps and never vocalized or followed through with my desire to be a writer, until I read a horrible book and thought: ‘I could do better than that!’ And so I did.

I kept my writing romance from my husband for nearly two years, but finally told him because… royalties and taxes. He immediately grabbed a book and tried to skip forward to any steamy scenes, and then referred to the moment as in Lethal Weapon 4.

My husband and I have a fun relationship, we’re both very sarcastic people and well, I was nervous to tell him that I moonlight in the romance author area purely due to him teasing me for reading the books in the first place. He now sporadically asks questions, asks if a certain something will go into a scene and still manages to poke fun at me.

I’ve written and self-published 4 books and one novella and I've currently got a few works in progress.
