Rachel Robinson - The Lies You Love review

THE LIES YOU LOVE
Release Date: February 3

Auden

In a quest to forget my ex left me to marry a man, I turned to a few flings. Okay, more than a few, but I dare anyone to judge me after the life I’ve endured. Then, a one-night stand gets a little blurry in the emotions department. He’s muscular, smooth talking, and the chemistry is so hot that thinking about him makes me buzz. The catch is he can only commit to a one month fling. It’s so good, I agree, but it’s obvious there’s something between us that can’t be ignored. His secrets are deep, and I don’t want to get burned again yet, walking away is impossible.

Beck

I spend one month on duty guarding my Principal, and one month off letting loose. That’s my schedule, and I’m okay with it until I meet her. The night we meet is a little fuzzy, but our connection is not. When I wake up in the morning and discover my life-altering one-night stand is my Principal’s best friend, I know I’m doomed, but I make excuses to keep Auden for as long as I can. That is until both their lives are in danger and I can only save one.

My duty and honor, or the woman who I’ve fallen mercilessly for?

Always protect the heartbeat.

My Review

I love when a book opens on an intense scene and then goes back in time to tell the story. This opening had me hooked and ready to dive in! I was completely sucked into this story and I couldn't read it fast enough. Gray and Beck watch Ramsey like a hawk, but soon things got twisted and took a turn Beck didn't see coming. I loved the chemistry between Beck and Auden. I wanted things to work out between them. They slipped past each other's guard and real feelings emerged. I loved the push/pull of this story and I didn't want it to be over! There were so many questions I had reading this book and I loved how the reader is given little tidbits throughout the story. This was a fantastic book!

  Blurb:
All I wanted for Christmas was a date… I posted one personal ad on a free, dark web dating site. I expected a Nigerian Prince who wanted my bank account number or a phishing scam. I didn’t expect to receive lavish gifts from a beautiful stranger. A plane ticket. A weeklong vacation in Bora Bora. Saying yes to everything was easy because in exchange for my insane compliance, he agreed to be my date home for Christmas. Except when I arrive in paradise I realize he isn’t just a beautiful stranger. He’s Italian royalty—an actual freaking Prince! He’s also a world-famous porn star. Falling for an untouchable man isn’t advisable, but then again this was only supposed to be The Christmas Con. A standalone, steamy, Christmas Novella.

My Review

This was a fun, and sometimes funny, flirty, sexy, swoony read! It was unlike any other book I've read and I was completely lost in the story! Lizzy went an unconventional route to finding a date to take home at Christmas. And she got more than she bargained for with Luca! Their story was definitely steamy but there was more than just chemistry between them. And Luca was more than just his job. His family was quirky and they loved him for him. I adored his relationship with Elizabeth. It wasn't something either of them expected but these two clicked! I didn't want to put this book down. And who doesn't enjoy a Christmas time story?!
