My Review

I LOVED this story. I was quickly consumed by Jade and Jackson! I truly did not want to put this book down.  They were complete strangers but 1000% attracted to each other and their chemistry was off the charts! This book is sexy, sweet, fun and all around awesome!

"And now that man is standing in the shared balcony space as I am, and for the life of me, I can't take my eyes off him."

And so it begins ... these two people are single, on vacation, so why not spend all their time together?! What started out as a way to avoid triplets, Tuffy, Buffy and Muffy, ended up being a vacation they would never forget. They are pulled toward each other and it was absolutely delicious. Jade thinks Jackson wouldn't be attracted to her in her normal life. Being in an exotic location brings out her creativity and starts the pretending. However, Jackson is truly attracted to her (vacation or not) and treats her like a queen. I enjoyed watching them get to know each other (as much as they would allow the truth to come out) however, they couldn't fake what activities they enjoyed doing or things they liked eating. It may have started out as fake, but emotions can't be ignored. I don't want to say too much to give this story away, as I believe it's better to be read without too much knowledge of what's to come. I enjoyed the twists and turns this story took and how things overlapped. This book brought all the feels and left me with a book hangover. Be prepared for Jackson to become your newest book boyfriend! Hurry! Run, go grab this AMAZING book today!

I laugh and find myself tempted by her hand, which sits on the metal table. After our impromptu snogging session, Jade put on a nice little sundress which has my imagination running wild and some strappy sandals. Her toes are painted a turquoise blue. I found it a little weird at first; normally I see reds or pinks on toes, but rarely a blue colour. I quite like it. I like it a lot. In fact, I’ve yet to find something about this woman I don’t like.
“And yet, you didn’t. I came over and kissed you. You could’ve punched me, kicked me in the nuts, or groped me. I’m grateful you let me kiss you the way I did.”
She blushes again. “Why did you? I’m sure there are other, more beautiful women at the resort that would’ve been happy to oblige you.”
“But then I wouldn’t be here with my pretend wife, trying to get to know more about her.”
Her eyes don’t waver from mine as she takes a sip of her cocktail. “Do you really want to get to know me?”
“The fake you, yes. I don’t want to get cornered by one of the triplets and not know my facts.”
“Are they in fact, triplets?”
I shake my head. “I haven’t got a bloody clue, to be honest with you. Fake tits all look the same at the end of the day.”
Her mouth falls open into a sexy little O and images of other ways I can make that happen pop straight into mind. “I named them Muffy, Tuffy, and Buffy. The names seemed fitting,” she says with a shrug.
I crack the fuck up. “Then that is what we’ll call them until they leave.”
“Do you know when that is? Or what room they’re in?”
I lean over the table and pick her hand up. “They leave after us, and no, I don’t, thank goodness. I don’t care either. I made you a promise and I always keep my promises.” I bring her hand to my lips and let them linger against her skin until a passer-by makes a comment about us being in love.
Not love, lust though, and I couldn’t be happier that I chose her to be my distraction this week. When I finally let go of her hand, she picks up her drink and finishes it.
“Want another one?” I ask, already standing by the time she nods. I lean down and kiss the top of her head, inhaling the scent of her shampoo. The smell of grapefruit assaults my senses, making my heart race. I groan as I walk into the restaurant. I could’ve easily waited for the waitress to come back to us, but I needed to step away from Jade for a minute. She’s fucking deadly with her innocent façade and I have a strong reason to believe I’m going to fall victim to her and love every minute of it.
When I walk out, there’s a bloke talking to her as if it’s an everyday occurrence. I have never been jealous of any man until now. The pure rage I feel, watching him talk to my pretend wife almost takes over my body, yet I find the will to let it go. Who am I to stand in the way of her potential hook-ups?

Heidi McLaughlin - Stripped Bare review

I'm not sure where to start with this review. It was SOOOOOO good and made me feel the feels, like whoa! It's one of those books that sticks with you. I really enjoyed these characters and quickly fell in love with them.  Macey's life hasn't been easy and she's trying to do better for her daughter.  She runs into more bad luck when she runs back into Finn. When she sees him again, she knows she needs to accept his deal. But it's just that, a deal.
Finn liked her back in high school, but then they went their separate ways. He has a sixth sense about Macey and doesn't want to let her go when he sees her again.  He's drawn to her and slowly but surely, his defenses start slipping around her.  He's just trying to help a friend and figures he may as well get something out of it too.
I enjoyed how Heidi gave us their history bit by bit and not all at once. I liked getting to know them and watch them interact. Their journey was hot (like, FIYAH!), sweet, sassy and so delicious. I was completely immersed in their world and I didn't want to leave. Heidi's words did a great job of capturing this reader. I loved Finn and enjoyed watching him protect Macey and war with himself as to his true feelings.

They don’t call it the Strip for nothing. . . .

In this sinfully sexy Las Vegas romance from bestselling author Heidi McLaughlin, a man who has it all reunites with a woman who takes it all off.

Living in Sin City, Finn McCormick is no stranger to one-night stands, but the last person he expects to find losing big on the casino floor is a former high school fling. Even though Macey Webster’s clearly down on her luck, she’s still a knockout, and she’s dressed like a stripper—because she is one. Drunk off an unfamiliar cocktail of lust, pity, and compassion, Finn offers to pay Macey’s debts if she cuddles up to him around town . . . and does whatever he wants between the sheets.

Macey came to Vegas for one reason only: money. She’s got a young daughter to support, and the tips really are bigger in Vegas. But when she blows her earnings on blackjack, her guardian angel is the rich boy who once stole her heart and never called her back. Although Macey would love to turn the tables on Finn, she can’t afford to refuse his proposition—and soon she’s enjoying herself much more than she cares to admit. Macey’s used to baring her flesh, but baring her soul will take far more courage.

Heidi McLaughlin - Blow review

First off, I COULDN'T put this book down! Holy cow.  I was addicted to this book, like Bodhi was addicted to coke. It was an intense look at the destruction and addiction to drugs for someone to go through.  You know that show, Intervention? Yeah, the one you can't look away from when you start watching. That was this book.  Bodhi's life had been spiraling out of control for a while until his dad stepped in.  To Bodhi, for once in his life his dad cared. He put him in a safe place to detox.  This was as much of a journey of Bodhi quitting the drugs, as it was a way to expel all demons in his life and confront the people and the truths of his childhood.  Along the way, he met Kimberly.  She was a breath of fresh air and helped him on his path of the straight and narrow.  Despite everything, they couldn't deny the chemistry any longer and soon things heated up with them. They have a hard path to go down but their story was realistic, sad, scary and all things you can imagine would be involved in the path of recovery.  I recommend this read!

Blow: A Virtuous Paradox Novel by [McLaughlin, Heidi]

Meet the complicated men behind the sexiest boy band in America! In Blow, the start of an emotionally charged series from bestselling author Heidi McLaughlin, an insatiable heartthrob gets blinded by the spotlight—and learns to fight for love.

Bodhi McKnight has always had everything handed to him on a silver platter: fame, success, money, girls. But so do expectations, leading Bodhi down a destructive path of addiction—until a drop-dead gorgeous guardian angel shows him her sizzling brand of tough love.

When Bodhi ends up in rehab, he doesn’t expect to meet someone as cool and down-to-earth as Kimberly Gordon. Although he’s enjoyed the company of beautiful, charming women before, none of them have tried to get to know the “real” Bodhi. But Kimberly isn’t fazed by his stardom. She’d rather go horseback riding, teach Bodhi to play guitar, or ask him about his feelings. Soon Bodhi realizes he’s fallen head over heels for her. He just hopes that he’s strong enough to protect what they have from all the pressures and temptations of the outside world.

Excerpt

Tomorrow comes awfully fast and the day flies by. Maybe it’s because I’m not exactly thrilled about watching people have sex all by myself. It makes me wonder what kind of things people ask to see when they have requests. All I can say is that I feel like a creeper.
Chris walks into my office and stops when he gets a good look at my face. “Whoa, why are you so red?”
Glancing at the clock, I sigh. “Because in a couple of hours, I have to watch three people have sex in the viewing room.” He knows that I’m doing my own investigative work, but I never told him exactly what I’m doing until now.
He bursts out laughing. “Are you serious? What if it’s not the guy you’re looking for?”
I shrug. “Then I guess I’ll be watching these people have sex.”
“This is classic. I was going to ask you to go to dinner with me, but you’ll be too busy.”
I roll my eyes. “Ha-ha. I’d much rather be getting some dinner. I think I’m just going to stay here until it’s time to go.”
He tries to hide his smile and fails. “Have fun with that. You’ll have to let me know how it went in the morning.” He chuckles the entire time he walks to his office and then out the front door. I’ll never be able to escape him now; he’ll make fun of me for the rest of our lives.
Once everyone leaves, I eat the rest of my turkey sandwich I had left over from lunch while I look over my notes on Chad Bates. Jennifer never texted to tell me if he was going to be at the club or not, so I guess I’ll just have to find out when I get there. I wonder if Hunter’s ever done something like that … had sex with two girls on stage in front of an audience. That’s one of the reasons why I can never get serious about him. How can I when he does that for a living?
My time is running out so I close up the office and head to the club. The parking lot is packed, but I slip on my necklace and get out of the car. I try to ignore the evil looks from everyone standing in line as I walk up to the door. Luckily, Jared is right inside, dressed in his tux and his dark hair perfectly coifed.
“Good evening,” he says, taking my purse. It’s going to be hard to pin anything on Chad without physical proof. Maybe I can try to sneak in a hidden camera next time. Jared nods for me to follow him and we go through the door that leads to the sex rooms. Placing his hand on the doorknob, he smiles at me. “You ready?”
            I laugh. “I hope so.”
We walk inside and he points to the purple, velvet couch. It’s the same place my co-workers sat when Hunter and I were on stage. “All you have to do is sit here and watch the show. If for some reason you have to leave, just press that blue button,” he says, pointing to it on the wall. “That way, I’ll know to come in and get you.”
I nod. “Thanks. I think I got it.”
He starts toward the door. “Enjoy the show.”

My Review:

I was immediately sucked into this story. Kennedy is a strong, independent woman. I liked her character and her sassiness. Her friends took her out to celebrate her divorce and had it not been for that, she wouldn't have met the lovely Hunter. *shiver*  Hunter works at Society X and he can have his pick of women. However, Kennedy affected him like no other woman had before.

Their chemistry was SMOKING hot and palpable through the pages. Their story was a mix of sweetness and sexiness. Their journey was interesting. I really enjoyed their story until the craziness with Kennedy's client. Once things started blowing up, it sorta lost my interest.  I still liked the book, but I was more enraptured by the story before it went out there.  So the twists and turns weren't my cup of tea, but it may not distract you like it did me. I did enjoy the read though and would recommend it.
